Where are the dogs?

I’ve been doing a few jigsaws lately. I borrowed this one from my sister and it’s full of farm animals. There are ponies, cows, sheep, lots of chooks and rabbits but the only dogs are two on a postage stamp which seemed a bit strange to me. I finished this one in an evening. It’s only 300+ pieces and the pieces are big so it’s easier to work out where they fit. In other news, I went to my regular card evening last night. One lady is just back from holidays spen on the east coast. She came back with covid. Two others in the village have covid so we’re opting out of going to a funeral today. One of the villagers passed away from cancer. We’ll visit the husband later. We’re avoiding crowded places, especially till after Vince has had his tooth extractions.

Good idea to avoid crowded places. Covid is still going strong. My coworkers has it but so far the rest of us have been good. Over the past few years everybody but me had it at work. That is a cute puzzle. Its a great past time.

Touch wood, we haven't had covid yet but now they're saying it's not a good idea to get it multiple times if you can avoid it. There is still a lot of it around.

Sorry about your friends, but better to stay away for now. Although I am sure there are some, I haven't heard of anyone in these parts getting Covid as of late.

They don't put up the figures here any more but you can find them if you search. It hasn't gone away by a long shot.

That is strange. Farm dogs have been used forever. It is safer to stay away

That's true. Just about every farm has a dog so I don't know there are none portrayed here. Maybe the artist wasn't very good at drawing dogs.

We still have Covid here. I know several people that have had it twice, one is left now with ''long Covid'' which has greatly altered his life, and not for the better. I still take precautions, if I were to get it, I couldn't care for my son when I need to, plus I would pass it to him, and that would not be good. Take care, Judy.

@MarieCoyle Vince enjoys socialising. I can take it or leave it but I guess at least we're not overdoing it. We're up to date with our shots and have easy access to anti-virals if we do get covid.

We did go to a community 'do' last night. I'm just hoping for the best. It's hard to cut yourself off from everything.

@JudyEv It is hard. I honestly worry about my son more than myself, he is in and out of doctor's office, the ER, etc. so often. But so far, we've been lucky (knock on wood!) I guess we have to sort of pick and choose where we take our chances. Like you said, it's hard. A person has to go some places after all, it can't be avoided.

Just when I think we're getting paranoid and we should start going out more, you hear of more people coming down with it,

We do sometimes have people catching Flu here and there but Covid testing is something that we no longer hear. May be Covid had spread quite far in India and people have perhaps developed a lot of immunity towards it. Still it can be a worrisome thing for the elderly. The puzzle sounds interesting. I spend some time on different sites and I would read newspaper just before going to bed. Have a nice Sunday !!

@JudyEv 29 in Hospital is alarming, considering the overall population and the density. Were a lot of people going and coming back from international travel?

@JudyEv Plus it all depends a lot in the age as well. At higher age, one can catch things faster and recovery also takes a longer time.

The 7-day average for our state is 33 with 29 in hospital. That seems very low I guess but we have a low population and not all cases are being reported now.

My condolences to your community for the loss of a resident. I think you’re very wise to avoid anything that might make Vince sick or diminish his immunity system before dental surgery. I protest the exclusion of sweet puppies!!!! I do puzzles on my tablet before retiring and it is quite relaxing.

It's not just the dental work. Once that's over he might be facing a heart valve replacement but we're waiting to hear something definite. I do jigsaws online too.

If you did not mention the two dogs in the postage stamp I would have not noticed them. Avoid crowded places if Covid is around, Vince does not need to get sick for sure.

You're right that is odd. I would have said that dogs were far more common than donkeys on farms! Hope you stay away from Covid. People have pretty much stopped testing here, so we don't know who has it. Certainly there's a lot of illness around still. Just before Christmas I had some sort of fever that knocked me out for a couple of days. And now both my partner and Big One have some sort of bad cold type thing.

We had a heap of free test kits but they're out of date now. We will ask the chemist if he has any free ones. Do people test themselves there? If we test positive, we can ring our surgery and get the anti-virals which are supposed to help minimise any effects.

I have not done a jigsaw for years, but I used to enjoy doing them. They always have a jigsaw started on a table in my local library and anybody can add some pieces if they want to.

That's a nice jigsaw. I also try to avoid crowded places. However, because of Chinese New Year, I need to go to the flower market and other shops to buy food and gifts.
