When we were at my brother-in-law’s place the other day, Vince was very taken with his thermometer. We need to ‘keep up with the Jones’ – or in this case the Evans, so we have a cute thermometer too. The big figure at the top is the outside temperature and the lower left figure the inside. The sensor device sits outside under the patio and the thermometer is on the kitchen bench. It tells us both the outside and inside temperature. Also gives us the humidity and the ‘outdoor index’ whatever that is. We have our air-conditioner set to 26C and the thermometer gives the same reading. Which it should of course but it’s nice to have it confirmed that the air-conditioner is accurate. It's 7.15am and already 29C. Another hot one today.

It was chilly here; but the rain gave way to sunshine in the afternoon. Hubby has a clock that gives him just the indoor temp. Yours is nice. Have a good weekend.

It's interesting to know just how hot it is outside. It's 37+C which equates to 100F.

Maybe it's a man thing. I wouldn't have bothered with it really but I do take time to look at it, especially when it's so hot.

@Ronrybs That would be handy. Ours doesn't but Vince's watch does. It does just about everything.

I'm not sure what you mean. We did wonder if the A/C temperature was accurate but it seems it is.

We are actually on our third such device. The first 2 had that exterior portion had to be fastened to a board on the side of our rear deck. That was due to the wind, we didn't want it to get knocked around from the wind, and it also had to be a certain distance from the house. Technology has changed them for the better. We can also change ours from C to F which is handy.

Someone else is on their third one too. We've just got the sensor sitting on a little table. I haven't really looked to see if it should be fastened somewhere.

@JudyEv The current one that we have has a little stand built in the back much like a picture frame does.

@Juliaacv The one inside is like a picture frame but not the outside one. I think that one should be fixed to a verandah post perhaps. .

Our summers seem to be a bit hotter than they normally are. Just another aspect of global warming I guess.

I have one in my bedroom that tracks the inside temp and humidity..It seems to differ alot from the living room as so many windows in there.

We changed from one to the other soon after I left school. I'm not good at knowing how tall a person is if I hear it in centimetres but I'm mostly okay otherwise.
