I have had Vertigo since December. Started treatments in January. Only makes me spin when I lay flat on my back, but sometimes makes me dizzy if I turn my head too fast. Any suggestions on getting rid of it? Treatments don't seem to be working.

As it is lasting for such a long time you should consult a doctor. May be you have too high or too low blood pressure.

I went to an audiologist and they had a machine that did all kinds of things, spun me around, put noises in my ears. They found that my right ear was causing the vertigo. I am presently going to a rehab that does the Epley Maneuver. I Did get relief for 2 days, but it came back. Woke up this morning with my right ear and my neck hurting. Trying to get a hold of my doctor to do something before the weekend.

@Ghostlady The first time I had it, they put me in that big monster seat and spun me around too. Oh that was horrible!

I've had it after an accident where I hit my head. It was very disorienting and sometimes a bit scary. The doctor gave me exercises to improve my condition. I would see a doctor for advice.

My first visit to Rehab, the lady did the EPLEY Maneuver, which supposedly puts the Crystals in your ear back where they belong. She told me not to use my head to look down or to the sides, use my eyes. She offered a neck brace to keep my head steady, but I thought I could do what she told me to do. It is harder than you think to not lower your head or turn your head back and forth. I think there is more wrong with my right ear than those crystals, but my Ear Doctor hasn't been concerned until my last visit. She wants to do a CT scan of my head, but I can not lay on my back due to the vertigo. Doesn't bother me much at all standing, sitting, or laying on my left side...but most CT scans require you to lay on your back. She is looking into whether my insurance will pay for a CT scan at her office that you can sit up. Hoping they will..as CT scans are pretty expensive. Funny thing is, my Aunt and Nephew are going through Vertigo as well...weird.

I do not, but my mom has suffered with it for years. I have been dizzy a few times for no good reason I could find, and maybe it was a bout of vertigo. But luckily it is not something I suffer often. I can't stand being dizzy.

I had vertigo years ago a couple times but it only lasted overnight and I had the medication Antivert. When I moved into my current place, I got sick with vertigo that lasted for a couple weeks. I think it had to do with the change in atmosphere, allergies I found I have here, and that I had gotten a hospital bed. I still have the bed but do not use it much. I sleep in a recliner. But when I do try the bed, I have to be careful about getting into it flat and then raising my head, or lowering it from a raised position. Sometimes even in the recliner, if I recline back all the way, I can feel a little bit of dizziness starting. So I just sit back up. In my case, I think it is the allergies I have at this apartment. The first time I had vertigo I woke up with it back when I was in my 20s. I got tested and they said it was an inner ear inflammation. After that, I had it one other time in my 40s and I got some Antivert. This time when I moved here and had it for a couple of weeks, I was 60. I was so sick. I had to sit straight up, and could not turn my head even an inch one way or the other without throwing up. A neighbor helped me out a lot especially taking the dog I had back then out for me. I hope you get better soon.
