Old Style Vinyl Record Player That Holds 6 Albums

You just cannot find these anymore and stereo companies do not make them this way anymore. Why? Each vinyl album is 15 minutes long, so you have to keep interrupting your work to get up and change the album every 15 minutes. Vinyl is coming back into popularity now, so you would think the stereo manufacturers would realize that people just do not have the time to get up every 15 minutes to change the record. They realized it when they created cd changers that hold more than just one cd. The only way to find these record players is to find an old vintage stereo someone might have for sale. But then you have to deal with finding needles if yours is worn out. I realize that many people do not care about vinyl record albums, but they are returning to popularity now. There are a lot of vinyl record collectors out there and some musical groups are actually recording in vinyl as well. So, come on stereo manufacturers, get with the times...or should I say go back in time?

Vinyl indeed has made a strong comeback. When I lived with my parents we used to have one of those stereos that was a piece of furniture with a record changer inside. I'm surprised that they aren't catering more to the vinyl crowd. Have a good day.

We had one that looked like a piece of furniture from the outside. It took up a lot of room .

Those old stereo furniture piece! were great. Beautifully made and had wonderful sound. I was able to get one used from a person I knew back in 2005 but I ended up losing it in a move. It had the 8-track player too but that didn't work. I just wanted it for the turntable though. Could hold 6 records at a time.

We still have some vinyl records but nothing to play them on.

Smaller stereos are pretty cheap if you want one, I love playing the records but only able to play one at a time instead of stacking 6 at a time makes it pretty tiresome having to go flip the record every few minutes.

@capirani I guess I'm thinking more of LPs which is what we have.

I have all of mine as well as my mothers and a few I found at garage sales. Over 500 now including sets my mom had. I have a small record player but the function button is wearing out so it is hard to set it to the various things or move it from where it is. It has AM/FM, cd player, and turntable. I am looking to upgrade.

@capirani My husband had a very good vinyl player and it is the one we still use. I also have a small "portable" one, but the button is not working well anymore.

I remember those old record players, you could put on several records at the same time. We used to have one and I wish we had kept it. Hubbie and I are now into collecting vinyl records, mostly from the 1960s. We buy them at auction.

That is a fun kind of collection. I have a collection now but no way to add to it at this time. Enjoy your albums.
