A watch from the Hiroshima blast sold at auction for $31.113. The watch is frozen in time at 8:45 am, the time of the August 6, 1945 detonation of the atomic bomb in Japan. My sister-in-law came in from Phoenix last night. We will go visit my husband today (2/25). She will be here for his surgery next week as well. 24 days until spring. Breakfast - PB&J sandwich Lunch - PB&J sandwich Dessert/Snack - None Dinner - Meals on Wheels - Sweet and sour meatballs, rice, mixed veggies, peas and grapes What did you eat yesterday? Who would want that watch! Horrible memory of the only atomic bombs dropped in history.

@LindaOHio Those are moments in history that no one would like to remember and to see happening again.

@porwest I think that this is what some are wondering right now... A nuclear bomb does not destroy a full country, only a city.

@LindaOHio At the same time, despite it being such a sad moment in the history of the world, the dropping of the bombs saved many more lives than they took, as the war was ended as a result of it.

Of course, the wrist it was attached to doesn't come with it because the person wearing the watch was vaporized. Ouch. Too soon? lol For dinner I made Trader Joe's Mandarin orange chicken with broccoli with some hot, white rice.

I had a grilled chicken sandwich from Whataburger (I know, sounds counterproductive, but it was pretty good) and a sweet & sour chicken meal while I did my laundry at the hotel.

@LindaOHio — it was very good for a burger place. No, it was pretty good, period.

I do not remember a lot of yesterday's food. I made a cheesy cauliflower soup and we had garlic bread. I know we ate servings of apple dump cake. I think I had eggs for breakfast, either that or peanut butter on toast.

That watch would really be a conversation piece. Friend has a watch his grandfather was wearing when he was killed in a train derailment. It has some damage.
