Trouble Dealing With Burn Out And Stress

I don't know where to begin. Lately, I feel like I'm in a rut at work. People are okay; yet, I don't feel up to par with my job performance. Hard as I try, I barely make the grade.
The biggest problem is my heart just isn't in it. I'm not sure why. I need the job, though. It is how I help with the bills, make loan payments, and, most importantly, put food on the table.
Maybe I'm burned out. That's it. I'm suffering from burn out. I don't do much for fun. I feel I'm too old to have any real fun at 54 ½ years old. I'll be 55 years old on July 4th of this year.
At my age, I don't believe it's plausible to hang out with friends. Such a thing is so high school or college. I'm not one to do things lacking in maturity behavior wise. I believe in being a kid at heart, but with composure.
I don't know how much longer my rut will last. I hope to overcome it soon. I can't afford to let it interfere with my job performance. I get overwhelmed sometimes at work when putting away accessories. I have ten minutes to put a full cart away. I have to put away 2 overflowing carts of accessories in 30 minutes. If I don't, I get a stern lecture from my supervisor or my GM.
I must find better methods for relaxing and coping with everyday job stressors. The question is, “what can I do?” It is tempting to do online therapy. However, I always decide not to, in the end.

I wanted to say I am so sorry you have that pressured work environment..demands like that are very stressful and they know it. Such nonsense really.
Still you are in the job as you need it, I understand, been there, done that.
And risking trying to find a another job to replace that one is stress.
I have read not great reviews about online therapy..I can understand you not wanting to do that.
myLot is a great way to hang out with friends really.
I am glad you are here and expressing what is bothering you.
You may not think so, but you are still quite young.
I wish you the very best and hope your spirits will lift soon enough.

Online therapy wouldn't be a bad idea, it may even
be the answer, don't knock it till you try it, it may
even surprise you that it really does work.

You need to find something that works for you. A hobby that you can use as an outlet.

It happens to all of us. I was happy to retire last July at 50, but of course I was able to afford to. Life has to be about more than working all the time—life should be about living and enjoying it. Not just getting through it. That's just my two cents.
