The Last Place You Ate “Out”

I’m a little early meeting my friend for lunch, so I thought I’d start a discussion. She wanted to visit a new place to celebrate, so we’re having Thai food today. I haven’t eaten it in quite a long time, and while it isn’t my favorite, I do like the cuisine. Where was the last place you ate out? Were you happy with it?

Well if you mean "real food" and not fast food..I had Chinese last Tuesday. I got it for take out though. We hit Wendys yesterday when out and about. I just had fries though. I love Thai..but haven't had it for ages. The place I used to go in the city closed..although I am sure I could find others if I tried.

I was impressed with this place. From the decor to the food, it was amazing. More expensive than I thought it would be, but wow, it was tasty.

@snowy22315 I really did, thanks. The salon had new massage chairs, and they almost had my friend and I asleep while getting a pedicure. My back usually kills me sitting in those chairs, but this time it was bearable. I’m having some trouble now that I’m home, but who cares? I’ll have several days to recover

I want to say MCDonolds, but then again I'll order MCDilivery from them, via DoorDash, when I get a craving for a chease burger. I don't want to buy things like ground beef, until George's eating larger meals.

I’m eating out right now, at Chuy’s in Waco, Texas. Of course I love it!!! Wasn’t too happy with the service at Whataburger yesterday, though.

@AmbiePam — I’ve been to two since I got to Texas. The “original” one is about 80 miles north of me right now, in Austin, Texas.

My hubby was working at a Thai restaurant last year. One day he bought their most selling dish called "Pad Thai" It was good.

The last two times we ate out were at regional burger chains. You may know them both. When we went to Wichita for medical we ate at Spangles. Last Sunday we ate at Braums. We have not eaten at Braums in ages, and I was not disappointed. It was much better than Spangles and the price was very similar.

@AmbiePam Braums is around 30 miles. Spangles is regional. I did not know if it was anywhere outside of Kansas. Their stuff is pretty good, usually. It is just Braums is better and has more options.

I’ve never heard of Spangles, but I love love love everything about Braum’s. How far away is the closest Braum’s to you? There is one about two miles from me, but it has been awhile since I visited.

A few Mylotters with autoimmune disorders have made the same change. My friend I met for lunch wears a mask, even when eating. She takes a bite, puts the mask back on, and so forth.

@AmbiePam I know that some eat out wearing a mask... what about the germ on the food? If someone in the kitchen is sick, the food is contaminated.

@ambiepam I'm rarely pleased with eating out experiences. To day we unexpectedly ended up eating lunch in a simple place where the food was acceptable enough but not great and I don't like paying for "acceptable" food. I prefer to eat at home where I control everything and where I don't have to listen to other people's conversations. The woman at the table to our left shared a very long story about her dental work with the whole place, the woman at the table to our left dished out very questionnable marriage advice to her daughter over the phone.

I love a good buffet! I loved that Thai food, and I’d like to go back for my birthday lunch, but I’m concerned it might bother my dad’s allergy to shellfish. Sometimes places that have shrimp trigger a reaction just from the particles in the air. This was my lunch. It was beef panang.

@AmbiePam The pandemic made me research and cook all kinds of restaurant copycat recipes . We got pretty close on these Chinese chicken wraps at home - but oh geez it's so more convenient to not have to do it ourselves.

I've never had Thai food before. There's a small restaurant near us that I've considered trying before but never did get there. We don't eat out much, but my cousin took me out for a retirement meal in January. We went to Applebee's. I've always been happy with their food. I even have a gift certificate for them that I for from work to celebrate me being there twenty five years. But I'm saving that for when we have a little more money coming in which will be in the summer once we start washing windows again.

@AmbiePam both my girls worked there some years back so we're ate at Applebee's a bit more back then. Now that I'm retired we need to wait until we see what we're getting back in taxes or wait until we make more doing our summer work.

I ate at a restaurant on Thursday evening on my ''mom getaway'' time. It's a specialty oriental restaurant, really nice. I had a shrimp stir fry with fresh veggies that was to die for. So, so good. And way too much, as I ate the rest of it the next day for a meal! They got appetizers as well, crab Rangoon and some other various things that were all delicious.
