Jealous

Philippines
February 29, 2024 7:10pm CST
Sometimes I feel jealous of those people who's been or residing on other countries. Why? Because that could have been me also if my parents allowed me to work in my chosen field/ career. That could have been me having a great job, good financial resources/ salary. But no, it's not me and it will never be me. I am stuck here in the Philippines working as a contractual employee of our government with a minimum wage that cannot feed my whole family and cannot pay all the bills and other matters. I hate to say this, but sometimes how I wish I can go somewhere else without worrying about money. I am stuck with debts because of low income. And I can't even buy my medications because all I spent every penny to pay all my loans and i have just a penny that was left for me.

I am so sorry to know about your situation. Right now most people around the world have hard time reaching the end of the month.

I have no doubt things are much harder in your country in general than in my country. But you could also have a similar life here. The costs of medical care here are ridiculous, and I almost bankrupted my parents because of it. I go without some of my medication because I can’t afford it. I am very sorry your parents held you back, and I really hope things change for you in a positive way. You are a smart lady, and maybe someday you will be able to take advantage of that.
