Tuesday Challenge 03/05/24

It's Tuesday, folks, and of course you know what that means. Trump will essentially seal his nomination today on the big Super Tuesday when 15 states cast their ballots and one territory. Oh wait. No. I digress. It's Tuesday Challenge Day, and because today is the 5th of March that means I have to put another $5 into my envelope. It's just a fun way to think about and have a little fun with saving money and getting into the habit of saving. Whatever you decide to use the funds for is up to you. But if you do the challenge for one year, by the end of the year you'll have around $1000. You can use it for a Christmas fund, getting your emergency fund up and running, enjoy a nice little trip, go out a few nights for dinner, or just invest it. The choice is yours. How it works is every Tuesday of each month you put into your envelope the amount that corresponds with the date on the calendar. For March that means on the 5th you put in $5. On the 12th you put in $12. On the 19th you put in $19. And on the 26th you put in $26. My envelope, which I started in October of 2023 currently has $363 in it. How much is in your envelope?

This is a very good challenge, but it is difficult to do if we don't have a steady income every day. As for me, I always set aside money to save, I don't care what the nominal amount is, the important thing is that I try to save to face unexpected difficult times.

People get this wrong every time. If you save and invest your money, you create your own income, and eventually no longer need to rely on others to provide it. But yes, saving anything is always better than saving nothing, and more importantly, finding ways to make what you have saved grow and continue to pay you is even better.

I forgot to put money inside an envelope, but yesterday I found 1 Swiss Franc coin on the floor and today I won the equivalent of $ 20 playing $ 3 at a local Lotto.

@porwest I think we may have a Dollar General here but I don't remember ever being there. I usually go to Dollar Tree and it is not often.

That was just a joke I wrote for Facebook that I decided to share here with this post even though it has nothing to do with the post. Dollar General is known for its dirty and cluttered stores, usually with totes and bins all throughout the aisles full of stuff that needs to be put on the shelves.

@lovebuglena Dollar Tree is beginning to change, and I don't think in necessarily a good way. It went from everything's a dollar to now everything's $1.25. And now they are starting to put things on the shelf that might be $1.75, $5 and so on and so forth. Before you know it, they'll just be another Dollar General where I like to joke, they call it that because generally nothing is a dollar. lol

Well at 1 time I DID have over 10.000 saved up till after I recovered & started getting the supplies I needed for the cabin to get it sealed up now being the Govt cut my s s ck 1/2 in 2 I can't save any right now. But we make due with what we have to work with on what we're doing & things are working out for the better it just takes us a little more than it should to get the things we need like the cabinets & countertop.

It can be tough. But no one ever gets ahead when they don't save something. I am sure you will get done what you need to, though. You know how important it is. At least I think you do.

I like your Tuesday challenge. That is really much amount by the end of the year. My envelope has zero but I will be doing a monthly challenge instead.
