I've been using sodium bicarbonate on my face.

I've been using sodium bicarbonate on my face once a week for three weeks now to treat some black spots caused by pimples. Especially below the cheek area.
The results look better. The black spots are still there but not very visible. I found this a very cheap way to treat black spots and sunburn.
I still want to buy a face product that I saw someone suggesting but I might try that in April.
The photo is of my face today morning when I was using the sodium bicarbonate. I mixed it with very little cold water, and then I applied on my face. I let it dry for 10 minutes then rinsed it off with warm water. I then wiped my face and applied pure Vaseline petroleum jelly. So the photo shows the process.
I hope your Thursday is going on well.

@mildredtabitha I know, because it’s alkaline, baking soda can alter the natural pH of skin, this can lead to dryness and irritation.

@LadyDuck Exactly .
I will try Cerave or coffee face product in April and see if it works for me.

Yes it works Anna. But sodium bicarbonate is not good for the skin in the long run. I'll just use it this month then I stop completely.

Sounds a bit drastic, but it’s obviously working. Your right face is definitely more kissable than your left face. Unless that’s icing sugar of course!

no icing sugar. Just the white powder (sodium bicarbonate)
I'll take the kissable part as a compliment. Thank you.

@mildredtabitha If it works, keep using it. I hate to sound like a psychologist, or a '70s musician, but if it makes you FEEL pretty, use it!

The results are very visible but I can't say that I have finally found a good face product. I was only using it temporarily.

@TheHorse You sound like a good teacher. No. I'll discontinue it. I've read that it's not good for the skin in the long run. I'll try and get a good sunscreen instead.

Glad you found something that works. I have some eczema on my face so I am now washing every day and applying some eczema calming lotion every time,

I think you should not wash the face with soap. Washing the face with plain cold water can help it recover slowly.

Yes it is. But I'll stop using it after the next two weeks. I don't want my face to get used to sodium bicarbonate.

@porwest Yes it is definitely not a good thing. That is why I use once a week but I'll stop completely. I will buy Cerave. Everyone says it is good for the face.

Yes it is. I can say it's working because I've seen a difference in a span of three weeks but I'll discontinue using sodium bicarbonate by the end of this month.

I see from comments below that you are only using it short term but glad that it's worked for you. You are a very pretty young lady so you don't want to use anything too harsh for long term.

I'm 28.
Thank you Mr Colin for the compliment. I'll discontinue the use of sodium bicarbonate in the next two weeks.
I only used it to treat sunburn since the sun is too hot to be outside.

The best way to treat your face is with cold water, somebody told me once. I use a mixture of powdered gram flower, honey and sometimes curd. Keep it for some time, then wash off. Try home remedies rather than anything else. Vaseline petroleum jelly application is good after a warm water wash.

Thank you for mentioning another way to treat the face. Until now, I don't know the best skin product for my face. I'm yet to try two that were suggested.
Vaseline jelly is good. I agree.

Sodium bicarbonate is also used on the armpit to prevent sweat but I've never tried.

Oh wow. I love that you've been using it wisely you look beautiful. I hope you find something that is skin friendly and will not harm your skin. I love anything health related and I know by experience that the secret to beautiful skin is diet, good hygiene practices well and some great yet often overlooked home remedies.

Thank you
I hope to find one too from next month.
I think I'll start being intentional with my diet to maintain a healthy skin but I've been drinking plenty of water.
I know some few home remedy face masks that I'm yet to try.
