What is one of your happiest childhood memories? Share a story or moment that always brings a smile to your face when you think back on it. One of mine is the time I ran away..I must have been 5 years old? I thought I had run away far, but I was only around the side of the house. I brought a little tiny suitcase with a can of beans in it only.

@RebeccasFarm Probably spending time with my grandparents, great grandma. Going to the fair, and rodeo with my uncle who we lost almost 20 years ago now. So just hard to think back on those memories.

I decided to go to a movie theater without money and tagged along my younger sister. Actually, it was our childhood friend asked us to come. At first, we were not able to enter. I was 6, my sister 5, and the friend was 7. I remembered that I gave the staff a glass of water and asked if it is possible for us to watch the movie. He laughed and let us enter the movie theater. When we are about to go home, I realized that we are lost. Luckily, I figured out how to go back home. My mom was so angry and worried.

You're runaway story made me smile M,y best memories are the summers I spent in the Catskill Mountains of New York State where other Latvian children stayed with parents or baby sitters and we all could play and swim and enjoy the summer away from the city,

@RebeccasFarm there was a tennis court we drew hopscotch boards on, a hand-made lake, a big sand pile to play in, woods surrounding the area, and big pine trees for shade and to play under. I can thank my parents for having the Latvian who owned the place for friends and many different Latvian families rented summer bungalows, rooms, or cottages there. I had a baby sitter with me all week and my parents came up on the weekend,

Oh my gosh. When I was maybe 12 (when my sister was 5), I told her we should run away (pretending, of course). She left the room and was gone for a while . . . by then I did something else and forgot about it. She came out with her play suitcases all filled and said "let's go!". I told her I was just playing . . . and she got so furious. She seriously thought we were going to run away (omg, is this why she is so warped ). A happy childhood memory . . . dance classes in my elementary school summer school . . . I loved dance time!!!

My childhood best friend lived two houses away from me an back in those days we had a secret call for each other. We would yell Key ah Key and if the other was able to come out and play she responded the same way. We've been friends for over 70 years and still greet each other with our secret Key ah Key greeting.

What a cute memory. My favorite memories are family vacations with my parents, siblings and grandmother. Every American Thanksgiving we would go visit family in Maine. We always had two Thanksgivings. We would celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving in October and then go there and celebrate with them in November. I have so many wonderful memories from those times.

That is funny. Running away to survive on beans only? My best childhood memory is going out for picnic with my family members. I would choose whatever I want to eat. My favorite was chips with fried eggs and tomato sauce. Then we would go boat riding and get my face painted.

I ran away when I was 8 I had my little Minnie mouse purse that had fake money in it a shirt and shorts (it was snowing out) I was going to the beach, I had my hello kitty lunch box it had a juice box and a luncable. I made it to the end of the driveway our driveway is about 2 miles long. Then I ran back in I got cold I was wearing flipflops and a swimsuit while it was snowing out! I ran in crying to my mom! She thought it was funny but told me the dangers of trying to go somewhere by myself and gave me a blanket and some hot chocolate! (I was 8 not very long ago)
