Received another birthday card

It was from my godmother. I didn't grow up knowing her other than the annual birthday card and check she would send me. She divorced her first husband and moved back to the Pittsburgh area when I was only like a year old. She visited a couple of times I think but then she and my mother lost contact for years. When I got married and was planning our post-wedding party my mother insisted that I invite her. She attended and that rekindled the friendship between the two of them. The birthday cards and checks resumed. I appreciate the gesture of sending a card but 2 things always make me laugh. The first is that she includes a $25 check. I just turned 47. I don't need the $25. I appreciate it but it isn't necessary. The second is that she always makes the check out to the name that I go by rather than my legal name which is on my bank account. It never fails and I have to endorse the check twice. She's known me since I was born. She was literally at my christening. She knows what my full name is. Oh well. In any case I texted her to thank her. Now I just need to endorse the check twice and deposit it .

That's nice of her to remember you. I received zero cards this year which shocked me. I did get an email and a Facebook recognition from those that normally send cards. Have a good day.

In my opinion, you're never to old for free money. Reguardless of the ammount.
