Beautiful Cherry Blossoms

I'm visiting Seattle for the week, and have been completely blown away by the natural beauty of the area. From Puget Sound to Mt. Rainier, I have been in complete awe of everything I've seen. And the weather has been picture-perfect, with clear blue skies, cool temperatures, and warm sunshine.
What totally took me by surprise was the number of cherry trees throughout the city and surrounding areas, all in full bloom. They are everywhere! Now I understand what people mean when they talk about the cherry blossoms being in bloom. It's like being in heaven!
Photo is the cherry blossoms in my friend's from yard. Do you have cherry blossoms where you live, and are they in full bloom?

That is part of the appeal with cherry blossoms. People love them because the trees just become overtaken by all the blooms. And then when you have hundreds, or even thousands, of the trees all throughout an area, it just because like a paradise.
I’m sure Australia has beautiful blooming trees, and I’m pretty sure you’ve written about a few over the years!

@moffittjc Our apple orchards can look like a sea of white or pink when the trees are all in bloom.

I was actually surprised that the cherry trees in Seattle were already blooming. I thought it would be much later in the spring due to their cooler, wetter weather. I guess I picked the perfect time to visit with them all in full bloom now. I hope when your cherry trees start blooming they are as beautiful as the ones here in Seattle.

@moffittjc They are nice when they do but they don't last too long. The wind will blow them all off.

@Happy2BeMe That happens to the dogwoods as well.

The clouds moved back in yesterday afternoon, and the forecast for today on is for the typically Seattle drizzly rain. At least I got to enjoy picture perfect weather for a few days here.

I don’t know much about bloom times of the various species of trees, but I would think it’s still a little too early for flowering blossoms that far north where you are. But then again, what do I know? I’m a southerner! Haha

The dogwoods are beautiful too! We have a few where I live in Florida, but they aren’t as abundant as they are in other places. Our biggest bloomers are crape Myrtle trees and azaleas.
If you don’t mind me asking, what part of the country do you live in?

I like when there is a lot of variety among the trees, it can make for some very colorful scenery when everything is blooming.

Besides my magnolia tree, I don’t have any blooming trees in my yard, but my neighbor has a lot of lilies, and they are so beautiful when they bloom.

The courthouse in Olympia is in full bloom too. My oldest is in Centralia for the week and drove there yesterday. Down in Salem, the state capitol is in bloom too. It's so amazing to see. I'm in the eastern side of WA this year and miss it. Heading to Oregon May 1st and then up near Olympia. It's so beautiful on that end.

I should have contacted you ahead of time and made plans to drive out and meet you. I was at Mt Ranier yesterday, but the park was closed. It was oka though, we rented a cabin nearby and just explored the area. How far are you from Mt Ranier?

@noni1959 It might be a while before I’m out that way again. My next planned trip to the west coast is in 2 years to visit LA.

@moffittjc You are about five hours away from me right now. I'm headed down to Oregon again too. Do you go to Seattle ever so often? I'm going to be moving to the South Bend, Raymond, Westport area in a couple months after running around Oregon. Haven't decided on exactly where yet. That isn't too far from Seattle.

The only time I went even farther from corner to corner on the map was when I flew to Alaska as a teenager to spend a summer with my aunt and uncle.

@porwest Alaska was really fun, at least through my eyes as a teenager. There were moose everywhere, and they’d come up right in the yard and on the streets.
I’ve always wanted to do a cross-country scenic train trip across Canada. That would be amazing, just like driving cross country with your camper.

@moffittjc I have never been to Alaska, but I would love to visit. I think it would be fun to take a very long trip and drive through Canada with the camper.

We had a lovely cherry tree for years, I hated moving away from it when I did. It was very old, so big. Many, many cherries picked from that big tree, and the blossoms were beautiful.

I’ve always wanted to pick cherries, but cherry trees don’t grow down south in Florida. At least I haven’t seen any.

No, I’ve not ever seen a cherry tree there. However, I do see trees that we don’t have, of course. My daughter has several well established avocado bushes I am rather envious of!

We have a few dogwoods in the area I live in north Florida, and they too are beautiful when they bloom. I’ve never been to DC before, but I am quite aware of how beautiful the cherry blossoms are there. One day I hope to take a trip there just to see all the blooms.

I remember the cherry blossoms in D.C. That's a popular tourist attraction this time of year. That's a beautiful picture. We don't have any cherry trees on our property. Have a good day.

I’ve always wanted to visit DC in the springtime just to see the cherry blossoms. What I’ve seen here in Seattle is probably just a small taste of how beautiful DC’s blooms look.
