Friday Night Chicken

It's Friday and we were thinking, it's been a while since we have gotten anything out for dinner. So, we had three options. Fried chicken, pizza, or Chinese. All sound good, but we ended up settling on fried chicken.
The only caveat is that with the latter two options, we can have it delivered. But the fried chicken, I have to go and get.
But no worries. Kentucky Fried Chicken is practically right down the street so it's not a big deal, even if my preference is Lee's Famous Fried Chicken first and Popeye's second.
But they are much farther away. Besides, we also want cole slaw for one of the sides, and hands down, Kentucky Fried Chicken simply has the best cole slaw of any chicken chain I can think of.
I will look for a bucket of 10 or 12 pieces and then decide what sides we want other than cole slaw. I haven't decided yet.
But it should be good and we deserve it. It's like a little treat. What is going on your dinner table tonight?

I'm on a 5 1/2 hour flight back to Florida, my meal tonight will be whatever airline food they're serving.

@MarieCoyle And all the restaurants in the airport in Orlando will be closed by the time my flight arrives. I'll probably just stop at one of the rest stops on the drive home on the turnpike and grab a quick snack or something.

I've not had Kentucky fried for several years although it's be surprised if the same is true for my husband.
For super tonight I'm baking a Stouffer's chicken enchiladas. I think we've had it before and I'm pretty sure we enjoyed it. With me being retired we have to limit our eating out plus there's not much that's keto on anyone's menu.
I did get an Applebee's gift card from work that we might use soon since we're getting our tax refund this week.

@MarshaMusselman For me, enchiladas are so easy to make, I can't see paying the price they want for them. But that's just me.

I love their coleslaw too. I had Red Lobster leftovers for lunch and a PB&J sandwich for dinner. Have a good weekend.

@porwest KFC has the most expensive chicken EVER! We don't go unless we have a coupon; and even then it's expensive. Have a good week.

I wound up getting a 12 piece meal with 3 large sides. Cole slaw was one of the sides I chose, along withy macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy. It came to around $41. Isn't that just nuts? lol. On top of that I decided to ADD 1 additional large cole slaw and that brough it to $48. That's a lot for cole slaw if you ask me, but I will admit it is good.

The last time I ate KFC will be the last time for me. Talk about way, way too greasy!! It honestly slid down and then came right back up…you enjoy!!

I will be the first to admit, KFC is not the best fried chicken out there at all. It was just closest. My #1 preference is Lee's Famous an my 2nd favorite choice would be Popeye's. Incidentally, if I had a closer Popeye's I may have chosen it since not only is it better than KFC, but I own the company that owns it.

@brenna_g Our Popeye's isn't quite that far away. There's two nearby, both 10-20 minutes away. Our Lee's is just slightly farther than our KFC, but KFC is still the closest.
I am not sure even for a strong craving I'd be willing to drive two hours for it. lol

That sounds delicious, yesterday evening I had grilled chicken and veggies with a smoothie. That's the last thing I ate as of this comment.
