Overcharged for lunch today

I went to the pub next to where I work and picked up something for lunch today. I paid for it with my debit card, just tapped it and went back to work. Never thought anymore of it. Just checked my bank account and noticed I was charged $50.40. I didn't get a receipt. I never do. I know everybody there because we go there often. They have great daily lunch specials.
Lunch should have been under $20 even with the tip. Not much I can do about it now but it is a lesson learned. I will be paying closer attention to my transactions from now on. I work too hard for my money to throw it away. I always watch closely when buying groceries so I don't get overcharged for something just never thought about it when eating out.
Have you ever been overcharged for something? How did you handle it?

Wow! That's a tough lesson to learn. I might mention it to them anyway. They might credit you. Have a good weekend.

Print off a copy of the latest charge and go talk to them. As you are a regular they should work with you to fix it.

If I am ever overcharged I almost always try to get my money back. I think, if the business is reputable, if you call them even without a receipt and explain the situation, they will probably gladly refund you. If they give you a hard time, you can always tell them they risk losing any future business from you.

@Happy2BeMe That's the right way to go, and I'd be sure to let them know that if they give you a hard time.

Within this last year we went to a chain restaurant that serves breakfast foods. Ordered our food, paid and ate. In the car I noticed that what should have been "sides"included in the price were added in separately--so yes we were overcharged. Our lesson is 1. to check the ticket while there and 2. probably not eat there again.

It's important to make sure before you leave. You could've bought something new, or a price changed. People are also greety with tips. Getting a recipt is a must.
And, I just ignored it and kept it in mind for next time. Sometimes, I'll question a price. Just to make sure I'm not being overcharged.

You can't get it back? I mean the difference?
Surely you can coz they know you.
That is absolutely atrocious.
