The Week Went By Too Fast

I'm 2 hours into my 5 1/2 hour flight home from Seattle to Orlando, and it just hit me how fast my week in Seattle went. I swear it was over in the blink of an eye. I had a great time and did everything on my bucket list, but man the time went by fast. Why is it that when we're having the most fun that time seems to speed up?
Anyway, on one of the days I went to the world famous Pike Place Fish Market with the intent of getting them to throw fish at me (it's something they do to engage and entertain the crowd). Well, at the time I arrived, they were throwing crabs at people. So now I can officially say I caught the crabs! I probably should re-think saying that around the ladies...
Of course, my least favorite part of the trip was exploring Mt. Rainier National Park. Mainly because it was closed and we couldn't get in! I really thought about being a little devious and sneaking in, but several of you warned me not to get into any trouble while I was out there. So I used my better judgement and stuck to the areas I could legally access.
Photo is Mt. Ranier as we were driving towards it.

Haha thanks! No trip is ever successful if you don't catch something while you're there!

@Happy2BeMe Well, if I make it back without catching some type of nasty flu or cold virus, I'll consider that a win!

That fish market is where that famous scene from Free Willy was filmed. Of course I grew up up there, so I could give you all kinds of stupid random facts about that area.

@thislittlepennyearns Why does life have to be so expensive? It sucks. Which then makes us have to work jobs that slowly suck the life out of us, which then causes us to have to spend even more money to stay alive health wise. It's a vicious cycle.

I did a lot of hiking around the base of the mountain, I just didn’t get to go into the national park itself. But we stayed in a cabin at the base for a few days, so that was pretty fun.

@kareng Thanks. I had a wonderful time, and wish I could have stayed out there for a longer time. And I loved how nice and cold it was there.

@moffittjc It was probably pine wood, which can be quite sappy and hard to light.

@Juliaacv Our pine wood in Florida is easy to light. I’m not sure what kind of wood I was using in Washington.

The funniest part of the trip was when we stayed in a cabin at the base of Mt Ranier. There was a fire pit out back behind the cabin, so we decided to make a fire to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. Well I—Mr. Boy Scout, outdoorsman and avid backpacker and camper—couldn’t get the fire lit. I tried every trick up my sleeve, all to no avail. I guess that Pacific Northwest wood didn’t want to burn. So we ended up burning paper towels and cardboard so we could roast our marshmallows.

Thanks. Even though I couldn't get into the national park, we still were able to get pretty close. The entire area is gorgeous, so I was in nature heaven the entire time.
I had always heard about the famous fish throwing, so it was on my bucket list while I was there. Although I didn't get to see the fish throwing, it was pretty cool to see crab throwing.

Beautiful photo. I'm sorry you couldn't get in to explore. Catching crabs must have been fun. Yes, time flies when you're having fun. Have a good weekend and rest up.

Yes, catching crabs was fun. At least with those crabs I didn't need to get a shot of penicillin. lol

@porwest It was too crowded for me to actually try to run anywhere. I would have been snagged by passersby within a few steps.

I didn't buy any crabs, although I could have. But that's how they tried to get you to buy from them, by tossing them out to people who were standing there watching. And if you didn't buy, you just threw the crabs back to them.

@moffittjc I'd have caught a couple and ran like hell, then threatened to call the police for assault if they tried to stop me.

I love flying, which is weird because I have a fear of heights. But it doesn't bother me when I fly. I really enjoy it.
Whenever I meet people who don't like flying, I tell them that it's not a fear of flying that bothers them, it's a fear of crashing! lol
