It Was the Weirdest Thing!

As I mentioned earlier today, last night I got an excruciating pain in my lower back. I was just sitting in my chair; and I was not doing anything physical. Regardless of the dozens of ways I tried to sit or stand, the pain would not go away. I took a pain pill; and the pain disappeared for only a 1/2 hour and then started up again. The pain was so bad and so unrelenting that I was sick to my stomach. I thought I might have to go to the ER.
Then I thought maybe I was passing a kidney stone. The pain was so bad I took another 1/2 a pain pill. In about 1/2 hour the pain started to ease off and then all of a sudden it was gone...just like that. Very strange. I hope it doesn't come back!!!
Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. God gave me a break today!!!!

@LindaOHio - It already happened to me twice, it's not at all a pleasant thing.

@LadyDuck No. You can't get comfortable; and the pain is so intense.

I hope and pray the pain stays away!! I’ve had those pains and gone to the ER because of a bad back pain, sudden onset, with a family history of kidney stones.

@FourWalls This is the third time this has happened. The first time I went to the ER; and they gave me a CT scan. I had kidney stones.

Could it have been a muscle spasm? I hope it does not come back.

@GardenGerty As quickly as it stopped, I think I may have passed a stone. This is the third time this has happened. The first time I went to the ER. They gave me a CT scan and said that it was a stone.

I hope the pain goes away forever. You have enough problems without it.

I sure hope it was something passing through and will not return, I know that my mom used to say if you suddenly have a flare-up of pain in one area it could be a nerve ending. Seriously a nerve ending suddenly giving off signs of pain in the body for whatever reason and then calms down. I hope you are all right and the pain is gone,

I'm glad the pain was gone. I had a headache yesterday, but it went away a few hours l had it and I didn't take anything for it.

Glad the pain went away. Maybe it was a nerve or something. If it was a kidney stone would you have noticed it if you passed it?

Hopefully you simply passed a stone if that was what it was, I haven't had one so I don't know how painful they are but a friend of mine told me that hers was worse than labor pains. I have no kids so I have no idea what labor pains feel like.

This is the third time. I think it was a stone. Went to the ER the first time...they took a CT scan and found stones.
