Makes A Big Difference

What we put into our bodies does make a difference in how fast we age - even though genetics do play a part as well. For example eating less processed food and adding fruits and vegetables to our daily diet - lots of it can keep our skin smooth and glowing. I have seen it happen. Of course there are some areas where the skin is much thinner and turn out to be problem areas - like the neck for example, and hands, especially when they are frequently immersed in water. So do you have an anti -aging treatment for your skin? . Mine is eating mostly fruits, vegetables and legumes, mostly for the overall health benefits - not only my skin. So what kinds of fruits and vegetables do you like? Pixabay image

Since I've recently had a major health issue pop up on me I've had to change my eating habits with a no SUGAR diet & on insulin, but I'm working on getting my health back on track. I've mainly been eating fresh fruits & air fried foods, no carbs no sugars, no processed foods or fats, I eat cottage cheese with (no sugar) fruit cups, & Swiss cheese & bran cereals.

You are on the right track. No sugar will make a world of difference - added sugar that is. Sugar is already in so many products we use - like ketchup, baked beans, peanut butter, etc.

I eat lots of fruit, not as many vegetables, but I'm eating more than I used to. I don't use anti-aging cream. Though I use lotion to keep my hands moisturized in winter.

@Kandae11 It is a good diet for me. Yes, it is amazing to see the changes. I'm seeing most of them in my hands. I remember when I was younger seeing my grandmother's hands with all the spots and wrinkles on them. My hands look like my grandmother's.

@just4him The reason being that our hands are the only part of our body that would be immersed in water very often - especially those who do not use washing machines, dish washers etc.

I like all kinds of fruits and vegetables. I do think eating "whole" foods rather than processed foods is beneficial. I try not to use too many chemical products as well . . . I try to use natural oils and kitchen pantry stuff on my face (various fruits, honey, milk, yogurt, etc).

I love fruits and vegetables so most days I get enough. I've noticed that my arms are starting to look like my moms (very thin skin). My hands do need lotion to keep them soft.

@Kandae11 food is the best medicine (as they say). So much can heal us by eating good stuff while the bad stuff can do so much harm.

When l was younger l always admired my mother's skin tone, a d mine is the same. Which shows that genes do play a part. However eating the right stuff can still make a difference.

I eat a lot of vegetables but probably not enough fruit. My hands had a lot of rough skin on the tops but I'm working on getting them softer.

When you do work which necessitates your hands being in water a lot - it wreaks havoc with one's hands. I keep a stock of very thin plastic gloves which l wear when necessary.

I make sure to drink an awful lot of water, and I know that is good for one’s skin. I have been eating a lot of raw broccoli and mandarin oranges lately.

I like more fruits than vegetables. It's winter now the choice of fruits is not as good as in summer, but I eat kiwis, oranges, mandarin oranges, apples, pears and blueberries. My favorite vegetables are bell peppers, spinach and carrots.

My complection got totally ignored last year while I had cancer and treatments, but I'm taking better care again. I love fruit, but intestinal issues prevent me from eating raw fruits or veggies. I do love baked and fried veggies, but they're not as healthy. Great post!

Worrying about it will certainly bring it on faster. However the overall picture includes being healthy as we age, so we watch what we eat and receive double benefits. No one wants to be suffering from a myriad of health issuses as they age.

I cannot do something for my hand because it's really veiny and wrinkled since I was young. With the other parts of my body I used lotion and moisturizers and eat fruits and vegetables. I also do some facial massage.
