Yesterday's shopping trip down town.

Yesterday the weather forecast said rain. My Mum reckoned it was supposed to be sunny but with showers in the morning. She asked me if I really needed to go down because she didn't have much to get. So I was considering staying home. But I had some DVD and CD charity donations to take to the Oxfam book shop, and I also wanted to go to the Works to get some more points on my card before the scheme ends at the end of this month.
I looked at my weather app and it said cloudy with sun at 10:00am, sunny at 11:00am, sunny and cloud at 12:00pm and 1:00pm, but it didn't say any rain until 2:00pm. I knew I'd be back by then, so I said, no! I'm not going to let my mother tell me what to do! I am going to go shopping!
My Mum had gone out to deliver Easter cards to the neighbours so I had to wait till she came back before I could collect her Tesco club card and some money and go.
I went round the top path round Stowe Pool again, and there were no dogs chasing ducks this week! It was a bit windy round Stowe Pool, and sometimes it blew the lid off my trolley! I did NOT go to the toilet by the Cathedral first, I went straight to the Oxfam book shop to get rid of my DVD and CD donations.
Then I went to the down town Tesco and got 2 large pots of strawberries, some Alpen cereal with no added sugar for me, and I treated myself to a Crunchie Easter Egg for £3. I payed for that, only the cashier missed off one of the pots of strawberries and so charged me too little, so I had to bring it to her attention that I had 2 pots of strawberries!
After that I went to the Works and got 2 deep square canvases for £3, a pack of 6 of the little canvases for £3 and some more of the thin 10" × 12" canvases for £4, so that was another £10 spend. I went to the till and payed for them, and got out my loyalty card and said, I was told this is ending at the end of this month. The lady said, yes, in April your points will be converted into a voucher, so you will get a voucher. So keep the card until June, and then we'll know if you've spent your voucher. So I've got till June to use my voucher after the weekend. I hope to use it sooner rather than later though.
Because it was Good Friday there was supposed to be a March of Witness in the town that Churches Together in Lichfield had organised, but I saw head nor hair of it! (I was actually trying to avoid it but turns out I did that without trying!)
Next I went to the toilet by the Cathedral, and then I headed off for home. It was still a bit windy, but as the wind was behind me this time it was nearly blowing me home! It was only when I got to the bottom of Stowe Pool and I had to.change my direction to walk passed the end that the wind caught the trolley lid again and started blowing it off! As soon as I went down the slope and crossed the road by St Chads Church that the wind was no longer a problem.
When I got home I unpacked the groceries and put them away. My Mum was out at the home group that meets in the Church every other Friday morning. They were having communion because it was Good Friday. So I did some work on my Easter cards that I'm making for my Mum and step-dad, then I had some lunch and watched some telly.
It was about 3:00pm before it actually started to rain!
What have you lot been getting up to lately?
I hope you are all well.
Have a nice day and a wonderful weekend.

@sharonelton - A terrible wind is blowing right now and more dust from the Sahara. I will use the hose to clear the pathway.

Oh, no! I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that's stopped now.
I'm glad you managed to take some stuff to the recycle centre before the rain came.

@LadyDuck Oh, no! I'm sorry to hear that.
That's a good idea.
Maybe you can make sand castles with the sand from the Sahara! (Joke! )

@sharonelton Goodness, just one toilet stop. I admire your holding on ability. Our back garden is flooded with sunshine and a gallimaufry of small birds flitting around the feeders that I have just replenished. Tonight’s repast will be salmon with fresh spring vegetables and a pineapple salsa.

'gallimaufry', eh? There is only one member who knows and uses such a word! "The earliest known use of the noun gallimaufry is in the mid 1500s. OED's earliest evidence for gallimaufry is from 1551, in a translation by Ralph Robinson, translator. gallimaufry is a borrowing from French. Etymons: French galimafrée."

I think I would have needed the wind behind me to get me home after all of that. But then, I don't get out much. Sounds like you had pretty good timing.

So Good Friday is not a public holiday in your country?

It is a bank holiday. All the banks and building societies were closed but a lot of other shops were open.

You had a busy day! I recently sent out some Easter cards too. Our wind yesterday was just crazy! My sister and her family came for a visit with their kids, and they said the whole ride the wind was shaking their van like crazy. I think my brother-in-law freaked my sister out with his driving.
Happy Easter, Sharon!

Yes, I did, didn't I? Even though it was only a short shopping trip.
I've finished the Easter cards for my Mum and step-dad now and they're all written and ready to be given tomorrow morning.
My brother and sister-in-law came round earlier with my little nephews Charlie and Noah. They took their Easter Eggs and Ali's birthday presents because it's her birthday tomorrow aswell.
I'm sorry your brother-in-law freaked your sister out with his driving!
You have a Happy Easter too.

It was a quiet day. Raining most of the day. I managed a quick walk with an umbrella. As it was Good Friday the store and post office were closed.
The birds were incredibly buy at the bird feeder for most of the day.

I hope you enjoyed your quiet day. I'm sorry it rained. I'm glad you managed a quick walk with your umbrella. I don't use an umbrella because the spokes get tangled in my hair!
I don't know if our post office was closed because you have to go all the way to the other end of WH Smith to get to the post office and I didn't go in WH Smith. I don't even know if WH Smith itself was open. I presume it was, but I didn't go that far up to see, I only went as far as the Tesco!
I'm glad you had plenty of birds on your bird feeder. I like watching the birds on our bird feeder.

No, it was really good, rain wise. No rain until 3:00pm, so I missed all that. But it was still rather windy.
I'm glad you had no sign of rain.
