Hubs is supposed to keep his phone on during the day. Had to talk to one of the nurses to tell him to turn his phone on. Said he couldn't eat his dinner because it was so salty. I will call Admissions again on Monday at the other facility to see if I can get him in there. His 2nd cousin is making Easter dinner today and we will bring my husband a plate of food today. Thank you for your continued positive vibes, prayers and support. Photo Credit: Pixabay

Odd that the food would be too salty. I would expect health care facilities would serve salt-less food.

I was thinking the same thing. Usually no salt at all!

@LindaOHio It's very strange that they add too much salt, usually it's the opposite in care facilities.

I´m with you, Linda. In my country hospital food is so bad because they can´t use sugar or salt due to patients with special needs. I can´t imagine a medical facility that gives too salty food to patients I´m glad that he will get some good food for a change.

Your husband will surely love to see a plate of home cooking today. Is the other facility better with their therapy program for him?

You should also let the social worker or nurse on his shift know that he wants a low sodium diet. Get that marked in his file and sent to cafeteria so that it doesn't continue. I am sure he will love the Easter dinner ya'll will bring!

@LindaOHio I've had to do that for both of my parents. Things just get swept under the rug when transferred. Or orders are lost.

Sounds like a vey unusual facility. Salty food? Tasteless is normal, bland is not uncommon, but salty makes me wonder if they have a dietician on staff.
