Out Of Nowhere!

Is there a memory whether good or bad from when you were a teenager or young adult that has kind of stuck in your mind? When l was 19 l had been dating a nice young man who was about 22 years old. Two months into the friendship we were having a small argument - nothing l considered serious - when out of nowehere the guy actually slapped me in the face. I couldn't believe it, that was the biggest surprise of my life back then. Needless to say, that was the end of our relationship. No amount of apologies could change my mind. Any good or bad shockers when you were young? Pixabay image.

Wonder what could have got over him. He could do it once surely he would do it again. The first day I got matured. I thought I was dying until mother came and told me I had now become a big girl.

@Kandae11 In those days it was never discussed. I had sisters before me and I wondered how they hid that from me (lol)

That can be a big surprise unless our mothers have a talk with us before.

Somebody I had met in college when we were both ushers at a theater event..and spent some quality time with..made a date for the next weekend. I got mad because he didn't show and called me hours later. I wouldn't see him again. After the summer had passed, an acquaintance of mine who knew him said he had been killed in a car crash over the summer..

@Kandae11 One never knows! Doubtful though because we were both in our home areas over the summer.

Nothing like that, but I would surely have done the same. No way that I let a man slap my face.

That would have been a huge shock to me too. I'm glad you ended it.

Sorry to hear this. This was a very traumatic incident. I've been threatened. And I cut the date short. When I was first called the B word it shocked the crap out of me and a boy said something out of the way that let me know I have to be careful about who I speak to and be associates with. These things are shocks for sure. Glad you did not remain friends with him.

The thing is they will apologize and promise not to do it again -- and they do. I won't allow myself to fall into that trap - once is enough.

That is good that you ended that relationship. A man should never hit a women.

That was certainly a shock. It's good that you ended the relationship immediately.
