Hail!

I woke up today and finally got up at about 1:30p. with rain pattering on the roof. It was lovely. I enjoy that sound so much. A few hours later we had a thunderstorm that was full of vigor and it rained quite a while. The sun came out. At about 4:30p my daughter went over to the store to pick up some prescriptions. Then hail started and went on for about ten minutes. The hail was the size of the average thumb. My daughter made it home after the storm was over. She said she saw a rainbow as she crossed the parking lot. How cool is that? I love it when Mother Nature comes out to play.

We had a terrible storm late last night. Talked to my friend in KY, and they had high winds and tornados..not where she lived, yesterday Morning She sent me a video of a lady trying to get to her college class in Lexington, and the wind was blowing so hard it pushed her down..thank goodness she had a backpack on her back to break her fall. Personally I love it when it rains at night..I sleep good, and everything smells so fresh the next morning. Saves me from having to water my flowers, too.

Yes, I enjoy the rain. Rainwater is a nice rinse for the hair too. Or it used to be anyway.

@celticeagle My aunt had a cistern that collected rain water. I would go to her place in the summer from the age of 3, and when I took a bath (no shower) and washed my hair, she would go get rainwater and pour it over my head on the last rinse. Always made my hair so soft. Thanks for the memory reminder.

Was it a rainbow or a hailbow? We had frozen mothballs fall on us a week or two ago.

I like the sound of rain, but the hail scares me. Years ago we had hail as big as golf balls and it caused severe damages.

@celticeagle We get small hail stones during summer, but so big it was only one time.

You painted the picture so well, the sound of heavy rain is always relaxing. But if you have work, it makes you feel laid back.

How lovely! I will never forget when I saw a bright and bold rainbow in the cloudless sky after a high rainfall we had back in the 90s. It's too bad I had no camera to take the picture! I wish I had asked for one to use so we could have that memory. This was on my 8th birthday

I don't like hail. It's too dangerous. I'm glad you enjoyed the rain.

I also love the sound of those rain drops on the roof. always take care. hail and thunderstorms doesn't sound good to me, I hope you are all okay wherever country you are today. here in the Philippines we experienced rain and thunderstorms also but in our province we never experience hail storms. The rainbow is an indication that everything really happens for a reason. It's good to know that your daughter arrived at your home safe and sound.
