Snow day for kiddos

We're getting quite a bit of snow today. Wasn't too happy to see it. But it is what it is. I was debating whether to take my kids to school or keep them home. But I did get an email from the school board saying that schools will be closed due to the weather. That worked for me. It wasn't really the best weather to be out in anyway. I have to say they didn't seem to mind having a day off. Lol. Not that I blame them.

Although I am in Florida, schools in Connecticut didn’t have any snow days this year. We had our driveway and sidewalk plowed and shoveled twice, however. A total waste of money, since it warmed up enough to melt naturally.

Honestly, we didn't get a whole lot of snow here either. It was a pretty green December.

It is actually a relief when the school makes that decision for us

. But it is rare for us as we don't get extreme weather - only sometimes heavy rains, which isn't really enough to not go to school. Enjoy the day off!

@dodo19 Snow does not fall here. We did get some hail a few weeks back with the rains . . . it was almost like snow . . . but too bad for the kids that it was during the weekend

I am glad the school decided for you. It can be dangerous to drive when it snows I hope it will not stick for too long.

I agree. I'm glad that they made the decision for me. It definitely didn't stay long. It's pretty much all gone. Which I am happy about.

They were pretty happy. I don't think they went outside in it, but they didn't complain about having a day off.

Yes, I have heard of the cartoons. Snow days definitely are cause for celebration. My kids weren't complaining when I told them.

School was never cancelled because of snow when I was a kid. Sometimes, they made us have recess indoors but that was the only concession they made... we had to walk miles to school through subzero snowstorms, uphill, both ways...

It was rarely cancelled for us too. I would hope, but it very rarely happened
