Another brutal raccoon attack!

I was awakened again last night by a dining creature that did not sound like Kitty. I chased the raccoon off. It returned, and I chased it off again.
The night before, when I chased the raccoon off, I saw Kitty watching the whole thing from the balcony railing. I am not usually a conspiracy theorist, but I am still considering the possibility that Kitty and the raccoons are in cahoots.
This morning, I went to give Kitty some new water. When I dumped the old water in the toilet, I noticed that it was dirty. I had forgotten than raccoons like to wash their "hands" in water after they drink.
I have Kitty some fresh water, and she is now drinking away. Please don't report me to ASPCA. Did I abbreviate that right?
I will give Kitty some extra wet food today.

You're not doing anything wrong. Kitty is an indoor/outdoor cat. That m means that your home is accessible to other critters. As long as you're not hurt in the process.

@TheHorse Yeah, they do. As long as things are okay for now. You've got a good friend in kitty.

Maybe you should adopt the racoon.
You should be awarded "dad of the year" for how much you care for kitty.

Oh so Raccoons are causing you so much of trouble and bother.
So do they enter through any windows?
Are your neighbors also facing the same issue?

When I lived in the foothills of CA, we had raccoons showing up all the time since they knew the strays we were feeding and trying to capture had good food and water. They got smart and began to open our doors and caught one trying to lift a window. Always had to lock everything.

When I kept my sister's dogs I had a huge bag of dry food. I kept it in a metal trash can. There was a litter of raccoons that discovered it and we had to go to some pretty extreme measures to keep them out of it. They believe in team work. That might be another post soon.

Silly raccoons. But they are awfully cute aren't they?

Raccoons are very territorial and they will often kill cats in their territory. They generally don't get along with cats. We did have one living under the camp along with the cat but that truce had a lot to do with the raccoon not being in the best of shape. She was badly scarred and was missing one of her forepaws.

Kitty, the local raccoons, and I have a delicate balance right now. It is a Mexican standoff. I hope Kitty and I both survive. But I wish no harm to the raccoons. I submit for your scrutiny this classic scene.

Did they come into your apartment or just out on the balcony?

Maybe Kitty likes to keep you guessing. I do understand why she might not want to drink the water after the raccoons have bathed in it.

We saw a raccoon in a film the other day and it was washing its paws before eating.

That's a cute raccoon. Is Kitty getting enough to eat with all the raccoons around? Have a good week.
