Glad That MyLot is Still Around

2024 has been a better year in Oregon than 2023 and far better than the Pandemic years when Anne was being treated for cancer. I mentioned in a comment that because my knee was bothering me, I visited a doctor where my pulse was discovered to be 39 instead of something like 60+. So the next morning I was given a pacemaker, which seems to be working well. They also sent a little monitor that sits on a bedside table with a little green light that comes on with the light and goes off (thankfully) when it's dark. It reads and transmits info about my heart rate to the hospital (I think). Anyway, I talk to the thing sometimes and named it "Spock." Other than that, I aim for 4000-6000 steps a day on fast walks and play ping pong twice a week for fun and fitness. It is hard to do those walks in the wet Oregon winters though. I still spend a lot of time reading and writing poetry, getting mountains of "declined" responses and a few publications. I have about 15 out now and am working on submitting more to some literary magazines (there are hundreds) for contests. I do a virtual workshop every Tuesday and attend a small local critique twice monthly. All this stuff keeps me very busy and keeps the mind active and that's a good thing, I hear.

Nice to be here and to be remembered, thanks. I have thought about you wondering how you are doing in Argentina. I've heard about the inflation there.

@JamesHxstatic It is so nice to see you here again James. I am glad you have a pacemaker that now controls your pulse. We also walk 6000 to 10000 steps a day, but the past two days the temperature has dropped and a cold wind is blowing. We hope to resume our walking soon. It is important to keep busy, to maintain our mind and body bright.
