Don’t Be Shocked!

Just a quick hello from me. I haven’t forgotten myLot, nor my friends here. Just wanted to drop in to say a big hello. I’m shocked that I haven’t stopped by sooner.
The Ice Princess stopped by last weekend to visit Grammy and Grampy with her dad. Are you shocked to see how womanly and sunburned she became? Haven’t seen her since Thanksgiving and she must have missed spraying sunscreen on at the beach we went to. 
She’s grown so much and is taller than I am!
She spent a week with her other grandparents tooling around Paris including taking some baking lessons the week before she visited us.
She recently quit her crew team, because the practices were excruciating. She’s back ice skating, not competing, and getting paid to teach little kids figure skating. This summer, she will be on a 40 day tour of the US and Canadian National Parks with a group of her besties. And she wants to be a marine biologist now. Will be looking at universities soon
She will be 16 in June. Therefore all the hoopla. Since she was too sunburned to sit in the sun, after a breakfast here with friends and family, we went shopping in the mall. My hubs, son, and I bought her all kinds of goodies from her favorite stores. She helped me pick out some cute things, too, including two Chanel purses which I’ve been coveting. She wouldn’t let me buy her one, but hubs and I returned to the mall on Friday (yes, still my favorite day) and had the store ship her the purse she loved - pink, of course. It’s part of her Sweet 16 gift. I figured she can enjoy it now.
Anyway, that’s the update on the Ice Princess. I will respond to you little by little. So much going on here! Hope to hear that everyone is happy and healthy!

She grew up before our eyes! Marine Biologist that kind of came out of left field didn't it? My cousin's daughter is going to San Diego State and wants to be a cancer researcher. She does volunteer work in a health clinic in Tijuana. I sure hope she is safe!

Not really. She has been scuba diving all over the world, at least in this hemisphere. Spent winter break in Turks and Caicos and the year before diving and fishing in Cabo San Lucas.
Cancer research is so important. I hope your cousin’s daughter finds lots of cures and is safe in Tijuana. It’s a dirty, nasty place.

Happy and overall healthy. I retired from my cashiering job in December but I'll still be doing-cleaning windows for a few more years.
Wow, she's a lot older than I thought she would be, but younger than she looks here. Will she be starting college courses while she's still in high school?
Glad I caught your post, Dianne. I just happened to be here right now too.

Happy you are well! So good to see you again after all this time - my fault.
She’s 15 now, but not for much longer. She’s taking a heavy load of advanced classes now and speaks fluent Spanish and some French. I don’t know if she will be taking college courses while still in high school, although she skates a a university in New Jersey. lol

If she is only 16, she may change her mind serveral more times before settling on a career. My youngest wanted to go into marine biology but when she got to college she changed to education, then to history and then decided she didn't want college. She works two jobs and loves it. She discovered making money and now she just wants to work.
Your grand daughter is a pretty young lady. Glad yall got to spend time with her. Grandkids are gifts from God.

Oh my goodness! The Ice Princess is all grown up!! She is beautiful as well!
So glad you popped in and gave us all an update. She sounds like she is having a wonderful time and enjoying life!
I'm doing well, a month after accident of rooster attacking me and tearing my face up. Stitches, and then a hematoma formed which is still healing and I still have a black eye. fun, fun, fun!! It's been 4 weeks now and I imagine it wiill be at least another 4 weeks before healed.

@DianneN Yes, pretty good scare there. I always wear my glasses out there now. They saved my eye!! I used to not always have them on going out there, but that has now changed.
I can't wait for the hematoma to heal. I have several more weeks to go it appears. The black eye isn't bothering me too much. I just hate that people stare when you go somewhere!

Sorry I missed your comment until now. 
As far as I know, she only hangs out with girls, except for her video last summer at camp. The girls were all excited to mix with a bunch of cute boys at a getaway. I will know more when she has her sweet 16 party in June
Hopefully, she won’t change her mind a hundred times by the time she gets to college or in college. Time will tell.

Thanks! I couldn’t believe how long it took me to return.
I remember my Sweet 16 birthday party. I asked my granddaughter if she had any plans, and she said that she would probably go out with some friends. However, my son told me later that she is going to have a huge surprise party at a venue with all her friends. She has no idea, so don’t tell her

Thanks! I remember Gidget very well. She did a lot of body surfing when she wasn’t sunburning herself

Thank you! I told my son that it will arrive tomorrow or Wednesday and must be signed for. He will be traveling on business to London or North Carolina (can you believe I can’t remember?). Hope my daughter-in-law will be around. Nothing is ever easy or simple.

They just grow up so fast. It is good she has so many experiences and is setting goals. We all know that they may change but she is certainly not an "aimless youth".
