Leaving Florida a Week from Friday

It’s not easy preparing to leave here, despite the obvious reasons.
Must eat up what’s in the refrigerator and freezer and leave something to eat when our car gets shipped home
Post office has our change of address form
City Hall knows to send our voting ballots to Connecticut
Decisions about what to pack or leave behind
Car must be packed by April 30th in case it’s shipped that day or the next
Phone, TV, and internet has to be put on vacation mode
Hot water shut off
Cleaning everything
Dust covers on all beds and furniture
Checking in for flight home
Saying goodbye to friends and neighbors
And saying goodbye to Orville the osprey
I’m sure I left things out, but hubs has a list.
As usual, my emotions are in a jumble.
Tomorrow my brother is coming here for dinner with some friends. I have a hair appointment Thursday. Dinner at a friend’s house Thursday. Pickle ball and yoga in between. Dinner out on Friday and Saturday. And will be busy packing after that. I will stop in to see you when I have time to rest.
Is your last week of April as nuts as mine?

Heyyy, I'z always nuts ..... course I could be nuttier
I wouldn't want to be packing to go anywhere, that to me is hard hard work. Good ole Orville. I used to watch live cams of the SWFL bald eagles so maybe there's one for ospreys, I'll check it out.
Found one:
Welcome to our YouTube channel! We are happy to share our Osprey Nest and Osprey Pair, Harry and Sally, located at Moorings Park, Naples, Florida. Please ...

Ooh, how I loved the video! Mrs. Orville must have given “birth” by now, because Orville always disappears for about 3 weeks this time of year. He should return soon. He always does. He’s a very good daddy and mate. I know his nest isn’t too far from here, and I heard him giving warnings of danger (a pelican was flying in the area a couple of days ago) and he’s the king of our area.
I can’t thank you enough for this video. I am consumed by ospreys and can’t have enough.

Once I get home, I’ll have a lot to do to settle in. Our cable company won’t allow us to reconnect everything until we are in the house. I will have to unload the car - if it’s there, clean, make up our bed first thing, go through the mail, and unpack all the goodies I sent to my son’s house which he brought to our house. He just FaceTimed us, and said the house isn’t dusty, but he wants us to send him a grocery list of things we need until we get to the supermarket.
Don’t laugh, but since we arrive on Friday, he has bleu cheese stuffed olives for my martini
We are going out with him and Aniella for pizza Friday night - after my martini. Looking forward to real good New Haven pizza and them!

@DianneN Yeah, I know. I've been blowing off my doctor's office, because I have better things to do than to be talked down to because I decided I wanted to be happy.

Nope because I am not going anywhere, However, the more life goes on I have discovered the more I miss everything about where I lived in Latvia. I am starting to have hallucinations in my mind about one day having enough and packing only one suitcase and heading back come what may but of course that is not realistic so I have to settle for Florida, my life as it is, and my two cats.

@DianneN hey, if I suddenly won a considerable amount of money I would put all my writing aside and concentrate on packing up, then renting a tug boat, take Freddie and Tish, and off we would go chugging to Riga Harbor

I saw a movie not too long ago that took place in Latvia, dubbed of course and don’t ask me the name of it. I thought of you. The scenes of Riga and the surrounding countryside was so pretty! I’d love to go there on a vacation and discussed it with hubs.
I hope you can return eventually. The only problem would be is what to do with the kitties. They are not Sid.

It sounds like you have everything in order for your return to CT. Meanwhile enjoy the time you have left in Florida
It's easy to see that you're as busy as always. My last month of April shouldn't be too busy.

I have been wondering about Orville! I'm glad to hear that he is still around!
We have cardiologist appointments (both of us) and then I take one of the daughters with no car back to allergist/asthma specialist another day, boutique one day and my restocking antique store booth and flea market booth. I stay busy!!

@DianneN I am regretting this move into the antique store now. The woman that owns it is nice but relies on a friend who helps out in the store to do her Facebook page. The friend and I are going round and round. She never posts anything from my booth so I asked for permission to post my own. Sure. Well she never approves my posts now so they sit for days and days waiting on approval. I'm just done.
I was glad to hear Orville is still around too!! I just looked up their lifespan--20 to 25 years. How old do you think he is?

@kareng I’m sorry about that stinker who doesn’t approve your photos and posts. I would speak to the owner.
You’re right about the life span of ospreys. My poor baby must be at least 19 years old if not more. I used to see him way back when we used my sister in law’s place to vacation.

@celticeagle Too cool for my liking, but I have to get my garden prepared. Mid May is beautiful. July and August are hot and humid.

@DianneN Well that is good it will. I wouldn't know where to start! lol. I guess I will have to think about that myself if we are able to take a trip this summer.
No problem! We don't have trees like that here, and that's a neat angle!

I'm sure it's not always easy for you to live. This week is somewhat busy. My two eldests have birthday parties this weekend. My middle one had a dance off last night, as well as tutoring on thursday. So quite a few things going on, on top of school and work.

I will be devastated if I don’t see Orville before we leave. Mrs. Orville had her babies and he has with them the last couple of weeks. Happens every year this time. I’m sure I will see him later next week before we leave. Several years ago, he showed up and hovered over us by the car as we were loading it up. He’s such an awesome sea hawk. I actually love him!
