Oh. My. Goodness! I got a wonderful call yesterday! I don't believe it! We won the second appeal!!! My husband can stay at the facility until further notice. Thank you for all your prayers, support and thoughts.
He is still having some trouble walking. He just needs to get some of his muscle tone back. He's not 20 anymore; and this all takes time. Now we don't have to worry about the $$...at least not for a little while.

@LindaOHio That should be something to investigate.

I'm wondering how long "until further notice" is!

@LadyDuck It probably has to do with the reports of his progress, etc. The PT department has to keep the insurance company advised of how he's doing.

I am sure he is doing the best he can to do his therapy. Hard to guess how long that will take, like you said, he isn't 20 anymore. Unfortunately, I know that when I get hurt, it takes longer to heal than it used to!

@MarieCoyle He hasn't even had any step therapy yet. It will be a while for that.

@LindaOHio I am sure it will come in a timely fashion, after they've collected a bit of interest off of it.

@TheHorse Yes, it could take weeks to come back even though they had to have it in 3 days.

@DianneN I just hope he doesn't get pneumonia. We've had two pneumonia shots; so maybe he'll luck out!

This is great news. I hope that he will get stronger and be able to do all his regular activities as soon as possible. If this place gives him the most supportive environment, then I am happy for you and your husband.

That is wonderful news!! . Does that include the PT or not? It seems that might be a separate charge. The only thing I would worry about with him being in there a long time is the possible germs around like Staph, or Covid. Not to bust your bubble, but something to think about.

The PT will be included. I think he caught what I had from his cousin.
