I Kept My Money

Prices were too high today. People were running flats of plants up to 14 dollars. I can go to the greenhouse and make up a flat with just what I want for 17. So I just spent the day visiting. The man I made one of those cactus hands for loved it. I carried several of my plants out to the greenhouse when we got home. This next week at least will stay warm. I will get more of them outside tomorrow and maybe start some more of the pepper plants. It stayed wonderfully sunny today. Hope you had a good day.

I have always been careful with money, but now I am even more careful than ever before. I am supporting another person on a one-person income, and I just have to be. I am glad your friend liked the cactus you made, Eva.

It sounds like you had a productive and enjoyable day. Making your own flat at the greenhouse sounds like a great value, especially when you can customize it on your own liking. It is always refreshing to hear about your gardening adventures. What's next on your gardening agenda after the pepper plants?

I often resell what I don't want when I get a good price at the auction. But not at those prices. We will be working the garden soon

Sometimes the flats will go even higher. A few of us laugh when they do that. I want to pick lilacs today. Hope I get out there before it rains

@kareng We do get people up from Columbus and things are higher there. That's some of it. Only a few drops and then the sun came out.

The prices are always super high at the start of the season. I try to get in and find dried out planters for just cents at the end of June, and then I resurrect them and they look great.

I've bought a few plants on Ebay & I have some I've had a few yrs that a friend sent me through the mail, but haven't had a place to plant them cause of the trees that had my whole yard covered in shade, so I KNEW there wasn't a chance they would grow. But now that I have had the trees cut all down I have ALL the sun they need to grow, But I have a BUNCH of work to do B-4 I can do ANY planting so it'll be next year B-4 I can get a chance to do ANY gardening.

At least you got in some nice visiting. Its been rainy and cloudy here. I stil managed to get in a few moments of hoeing weeds and grass from the perennial geraniums.
