I don't remember if I mentioned that I misplaced my debit card the other day or not. I know I mentioned losing my safety deposit box key! I wasn't concerned about my debit card because I was pretty sure it was in my car. I had grabbed it when running to town last week with my husband. He was driving so I did not bring my purse, just grabbed my debit card to pop in the grocery store. After running a few other errands, we headed on over to the grocery store. I did not have my debit card. I had placed it along with a large envelope to drop off at the post office on the center console. My husband thought I left it at the post office. I told him, no I did not bring it in. Postage was applied at home so I just needed to hand the envelope over to the clerk. I looked for the card, but did not find it before we got to the store. I did a quick look under my car seat and did not see the card. I just ran in and used my husband's debit card. Yesterday, while in Baton Rouge, we decided to stop at our bank and get another card. I told my husband that I had looked in the car late the other day and could not see much since it was getting dark. I told him I wanted to look again for the card. I got out of the car and did a quick check. I found the card in between the console and the passenger's seat. Problem solved! Have you lost anything recently and then found it later? Good, I have lost my debit card a time or two, and it was a nightmare.

Me too! I have always found it. I did have to get a replacement when someone charged something to my card in Europe. I got my money back, and the bank changed my credit card numbers to prevent a repeat. Just a hassle waiting on a new card!

I am glad you found it. When my was stolen in Miami, my husband immediately called to block it. I had an amount debited, but it was immediately refunded, it was debited after I called to block the card.

The bank actually caught one on mine years ago. Oddly it was only a $12 charge in Europe somewhere. That is what caught the fraud department's attention. They were probably testing it out and then going back for the big charges.

@LadyDuck That sounds about right. I'm sure the "professional" thieves do test numbers until they get a BINGO!

@kareng I wonder if some people "test" several numbers randomly. My card was physically stolen (together with my purse), but there was my name and signature on it, so the one who accepted the card was a friend of the thief for sure.

I don't know how many things we've lost from time to time by them falling down between the console and passenger's seat.

@JudyEv Exactly. That is why I wasn't too concerned about it. I knew it had to be in there somewhere.

@LindaOHio My husband has lost his wallet before also. Major pain. He was working patrol at a parade on on a 4-wheeler. Had his wallet in his back pocket and it fell out. Nobody turned it in

I haven't really taken the time to look for it. The safety deposit box is paid up until next April so I have plenty of time on that. Dealing with the antique store drama now...Arrfff.

@grenery8 This lady is crazy and has no business running a business! I gave my 30 day notice today to move out. I asked for pro-rated rate on rent if I moved out by the 15th of May. Win-win for both of us--she could rent my space out for the last two weeks. She said sure, no problem, IF I can figure out how to do that! What? I didn't say anything as I was shocked. But really?

What's going on in the grey spaces there girl? Those darn spots in the car down in the middle by the console used to drive me crazy. Always getting something lost in there and not able to get it out.

@1creekgirl Same here! I had a $12 one in Europe a few years ago. The fraud department actually caught that one and called me to see if I was traveling. I wish!!

@kareng I check my checking account on line very often ever since there were four fraudulent charges on there. It was a different store name each time, but the charge was always $28. I guess they thought a small amount wouldn't catch anyone's attention.

My mother lost her debit card too. She was panicking over it. We went to Walmart so I could get some cat treats and she wanted to see if it was turned in inside Walmart. It was and she so happy that she has it again. She doesn't carry a wallet or purse. So I am buying her a wallet for Mother's Day.

Does the remote to the TV count? The TV channel can’t be changed manually, so I was a little annoyed with myself. What a relief to find your debit card after all!

I am glad you found it. I'm glad someone else didn't find it and try to go on a shopping spree. I lost a credit card once, and that's exactly what happened. Someone picked it up and took it on a shopping spree. When I couldn't find the card, I locked the account and requested a replacment. Charges were reversed. All was good.

That happened to me from someone lifting the number with online purchase. I had a charge made in Europe. The fraud department caught it and called me to ask me if I were visiting or on vacation in Europe. Those charges were reversed also. I was happy to see that they were on top of things!

I lost my wallet a few months ago when I dropped my wallet on the ground near my home when I entered an auto to take me to my medical appointment only to have my relative find it in the front yard a hour later.
