Really bad night, but the day is promising!

The last two nights, my son has been up and down the entire night. I go to sleep, he goes to sleep, and then...he's up. He putters around, tries to be quiet, but I am a light sleeper, and it wakes me up. So then, I'm up, too. Over and over and...well, you get the picture. He goes through this every once in a while. I hope this particular spell of insomnia is about over for a bit. And no, he doesn't drink coffee...
The doorbell rang, with a delivery man. He was holding some incredibly beautiful flowers--for ME! My oldest son surprised me with them for Mother's Day. They smell incredibly wonderful and are just so pretty.

@MarieCoyle - My husband often gets up in the middle of the night to go downstairs to read. He tries to be very quiet, but he always wakes me up.
Those flowers are really beautiful.

Half the time I don't think he is aware that he gets up, until he is actually up. He just has a lot of medical issues.
I was truly impressed with these particular flowers, they are the prettiest I've seen in some time. Every petal is picture perfect! Thank you, Anna.

I hate it when he tries to be really quiet. It still wakes me up. I guess I just want to know where he is and what he is doing? I don't know. I am used to living alone, so sometimes it's hard when he is here at night. Daytimes, it's different, but my routine at night is all weird now.

@MarieCoyle Have you tried lavender in his bedroom?
It is relaxing and may help him with the restlessness, that must be awful not being able to escape it.

We have tried a lot of things. One of his meds makes him really restless. They cut back on the dosage today, maybe that will help. Thank you, Julia.

Yes, I have tried that, and it's in there. It just doesn't work for him, I guess.

My oldest son is my only adopted child. How I ever got lucky enough to be able to add him to my family, I will never know. He is a true blessing to me, as they all are. And yes, my girls are very special to me as well. I am so, so fortunate to have such special children. I try to never take that for granted. Thank you so much.

Judy, I was not expecting them. Honestly, he does a lot to help me out the way it is, way more than he should. I have to be careful what I admire around him. I may receive it! One day a few months ago, we were talking about singers for some reason. I was telling him how much my sister ( she passed long ago) and I loved James Taylor, and went to see him several times. A week later, he called to inform me that I was being treated to a James Taylor concert with him and his family in June. He never forgets anything. I don't know how, but he doesn't.

I hope that the insomnia is for a bit. My husband is a light sleeper and once he gets up, he struggles to go back to sleep. I am the other way. Sleeping like a baby is a perfect saying for me
Those flowers are gorgeous.. They will cheer up anyone.

I know what you mean. George had an unexpected early morning. He just couldn't get comfortable and we were ready for the day just before ten A.M.

I was so tired by 10AM this morning, I don't think I even made any sense. I slept from about 10:30-1PM, which was truly wonderful. Thank you, Rasma.

I should be used to his insomnia spells, they come and go. This one has been rather lengthy! Thank you so much, Valerie.

@MarieCoyle You're welcome.
I don't think we ever get used to those things, even when they happen often.

My son swears I have an extra set of ears and eyes in the back of my head. Maybe I do? Nahh...it's just a sharpened up Mom instinct, I think! Thank you.

It is. No parent I’ve ever known wants their child to die. My son has been very ill. Thank you.

I hope you and your son can sleep now. Does he have a lot on his mind that he cannot sleep? I love the flowers in the picture. That was a nice gift.
