Not Worthy to be Called a Mother

I always thought people in India were for some reason more religious than people in other parts of the world. To say that this shocked me and left me speechless is more than right. A six-year-old named Vinod who lived with his parents in Dandel, Karnataka, India had a speech disability. His mother and father fought over this and finally, mom said she should throw the child away. She did right into a waste canal that led to the Kali River and to a crocodile-infested riverbank. May God take and bless this poor child and may that mother suffer for what she did. I cannot even imagine how she could do this.

In my view some people are mentally disturbed and no one knows it until they begin to display extreme behaviors. What else can explain such an act ? Some months ago here in the Caribbean, a woman had a row with the man who fathered their child and she threw the six month old child from a third floor balcony...

Having a speech problem, that isn't a cause, to reject a little boy! How dreadful:( That mother should be thrown to the crocodiles!

Some people shouldn't have children. How awful. Karma will take care of it.

@RasmaSandra I saw somewhere a few yrs ago where
a family killed their son after they tormented him & then
fed him to their pigs to get rid of the evidence.

That is very disturbing and horrific. How can a parent do that to a child?

I heard that, the boy was described as mute, so he wouldn't have been able to shout for help even if he tried.
There are evil or disturbed people everywhere. Who knows what the mother had gone through before this - perhaps the father constantly blamed her for the problem, perhaps she was stuck at home in an abusive relationship dealing with a difficult child. We cannot know what would drive someone to do something like this.

@Fleura that is true but does not excuse her for doing this so now she should be jailed for life to also tossed away but there is a hight power that will give her, her just reward

Not all Indians are religious and of sane minds. That is a horrible way for a child to die. She should be screened for mental illness and then prosecuted to the max if she is "sane".

This is so tragic. I mean how and why?
Religion is very important in this country although some people do get by living a very agnostic life. For me personally at least.
This incident happened in a rural area. In these places unfortunately people are still uneducated. Another aspect of living in that environment is societal reputation and people attach a lot of worth on their child's success (especially a male child's). The women in many cases marry against their will or they just marry because that's their role and that's what women do. Once in the family many are subjected to abuse (mental and sometimes physical too) which can damage someone mentally.
The Indian constitution is secular in nature. However those who most need it never make use of the law as they remain unaware or lack literacy to even understand it. There's also a general taboo of involving law against family members. So they suffer and suffer and accept it as fate.
However, this particular individual may just be psychopathic and evil, those people also exist.
