I have a sunburn on my neck, any unusual burns for you?

Saturday was a really sunny day, and I was out in the sun a bit and had my sunroof on the car open too. I think I got a sunburn because I have what feels like one on the back of my neck. It is kind of weird though because my neck is covered by hair. I wouldn't think I would get one there, but not sure what else it could be. Anyway, seems to be improving a bit. Where is the weirdest place you ever got a sunburn or heard of someone getting a sunburn?

I get sunburns on my face, mostly my nose and area around it. Sometimes I get it on my arms and hands if I don't have covered sleeves.

I only got sunburns on the most classic spots, the nose and my feet.

@snowy22315 When I go out walking it's only the uncovered area around the neck.

@LadyDuck I can still feel it, but it is alot better today. Really not a fan of having an owie! Before the sunburn there was the soreness in my thumb..Always something! Some of it you have to chalk up to getting old too!

I saw video some poor soul put out during Covid when everything was done outside. This guy had a sunburn with the exception of whiter than white skin in the outline of his mask. I’ve seen tans with lighter skin in the mask area, but this guy was burned so bad he stood out terribly.

Oh wow. It might have been Kelly Ripa who said she felt asleep by a picket fence once in the sun and she woke up she had sunburn where the gaps in the fence were. I got a sunburn once when I was wearing a red sleeveless top..when I got back to the motel it looked like I had red sleeves on.

I got sunburn on my neck so the fungus appeared. Luckily it didn't spread anywhere.

I was thinking of putting some aloe on last night but I forgot. I still could.

My arms, face and upper chest are my usual areas for sunburns. I have never had one on the back of my neck.

My seatbelt was on alittle weird. Maybe it was rubbing on my neck. That day though my lower arms got alittle red, but they didn't actually burn because that area is pretty used to sun exposure.

I remember getting sun poisoning when I was quite young. We took a trip on the train to Virginia Beach. I was sick all the way home. I hope your neck feels better. Have a good day.

Thanks. I think I got that once at Kings Dominion (amusement park) it was Memorial Day weekend. An intensely hot and exceptionally sunny day..before I was really used to the summer sun. I got a headache..I just couldn't shake..and did not feel well. It took me being out of the sun a few hours to feel better. Maybe actually, it was closer to sun or heat stroke .but anyway, I eventually felt better

@LindaOHio People never thought about their sun exposure back then. Besides I was a child.

@snowy22315 Nowadays I stay out of the sun. We were so stupid in the 60s and 70s. We didn't know about skin cancer and things like that.

I use sunscreen so I haven't gotten any either. However, it would never occur to me to put it on my neck which has hair there. However, not sure what else it could be.

I don't. I don't stay in the sun long enough to get burned. When I go out I usually bring with me an umbrella and I never forget to wear my sunscreen too.

I don't have any sunburns even if I am not using sunscreen. I think I don't spend enough time in the sun to have a sunburn.

If it is a nice day I tend to spend a fair amount of time outside.
