Just watched this movie the other day on Prime, it was originally released in 2014. I just got around to it and well I was surprised.
As some of you may have read in the past, I’m not a believer so I was not really interested in seeing it but thought I would give it a shot. I did make it through the whole two hours and 17 minutes. I thought when I first heard of it, it was going to be one of those shows that tries to push religion on you and that is not at all the feeling I got. I guess maybe I could have guessed since it is listed as a Drama, Fantasy film.
It stars Russell Crowe as Noah and his wife played by Jennifer Connelly. You will also see some others I am sure you will know.
I’m going to guess most of you have heard the story of Noah’s Ark. This is a telling of that story, what got me about this film is the way it is done, I found interesting and entertaining.
As it has been a long, long time since I have been in church or heard the story of Noah’s Arc I can’t say how close or what was added from the religious telling of the story but what they showed in the film I can’t say I remember all that.
This I can tell you, the film has great visuals, good sound and acting and whether you’re a believer or not it is still an entertaining film worth watching. The ending and I’m not sure if it is common knowledge and I won’t give it away for those that are not familiar with the story, but it alone is worth that watch.
Noah is rated PG-13 due to Violence, Disturbing Images and Brief Suggestive content. Whatever all that means, I thought it was pretty good. I would give it 4.3 out of 5.
