I Don't Know How To Tell Her

I work with someone whose position is a rank higher than mine. We consider ourselves good colleagues at work. However, I have been bothered one thing about her and that's the smell of her breath. I don't know how to tell her about it. Even if she's wearing a mask, the smell just goes through it.

@grenery8 I don't think she smokes. I'm not sure about her hygiene either. But I am having suspicions about her oral hygiene like maybe there are some cavities?

Maybe she has a medical condition that is why she is wearing a mask. I'll bet she is already aware of it. What do you think?

She doesn't have a medical condition. She's still wearing a mask because she's still not over with the COVID-19 pandemic.

@HaruLoid I have come across this scenario at "Homebuddies". You're Filipino so, perhaps, you know this Facebook group. The anonymous sender told his colleague, "You had better see a doctor or internist". To cut the story short, his colleague has issues with his digestive organs.

@Iam_jauntyjen It could be possible that she may have some health issues considering she drinks coke as if it is water.

I'm sorry she has bad breath. Offer her a breath mint.

@HaruLoid I don't know what else to suggest other than being blunt.

I usually don't tell to manager but whenever I get myself a mouth freshners like Chewngums I offer it to my manager. And you could bring two packets of mint or something and offer one packet. So she will keep it in her drawer. Best part is... she will think you are so much considerate that you brought something for her while buying for yourself.

I do hope she'll have some of it if ever I give her a packet.

OOpsy, this is tricky... It would have surely been difficult for me as well to communicate something like this.

I had a friend (she has passed away) whose breath was horrible. It literally smelled like poop. I thought she probably had tonsil stones but I didn't know how to say it to her. Whenever she would face me to talk I would need to stand back a bit. I loved her, but dang that breath!!
