Q of the Day: What's Your Favorite Sunny Day Thing to Do

We are finally starting to see warmer spring like weather in my state of New Jersey. Just in time for the Memorial Day Weekend which kicks off the summer. And when those sunny days arrive, I make sure I find time to plan a fun activity to do. One thing I really enjoy is walking on the boardwalk and taking in the ocean breeze.
Walking or jogging is not only great for my health, but there are so many sights to see while I stroll. I might see a beach volleyball game, parents playing a game of catch with their kids, and if its late in the day, fisherman trying their luck off the jetties.
***Here are a few more fun sunny day things I enjoy doing:
-Riding my bike through the sleepy ocean towns and seeing the ritzy beach homes.
-Going to the park and playing pickleball or tennis.
-Reading a book on my front porch.
-Going to the beach to soak up the rays and swim.
***How about you? Do any of the above?
***What kinds of things do you enjoy doing on a bright sunny day? What do you enjoy most about those outdoor things you do?

I love soaking up the sun with working in the yard doing gardening &
diy projects, as well as just sitting outside listening to the birds sing
thinking about what I would like to do next in the yard or just take a nap.

I enjoy those things too. I enjoy planting flowers, and also tomatoes, and other veggies to put on my summer salads and sandwiches. Its good exercise too.
Here are some more ideas of fun things people do:
-Going on a camping trip.
-Having a cookout on my backyard deck with friends and family. I went out today to get another propane tank for the grill. Having friends over for some hot dogs.

@2ndchances24 Yes, those activities can cost some money to do, but it's nice on occasion to give the TV a break, and venture outdoors and actually do something.
But I get your point, although gardening and DYI projects also cost money...

If it's not to hot, sit outside. I haven't really done much since George's stroke. sometimes he'll say he'll be fine left alone for an hour, but I'm not sure.

I understand. My brother and I took turns watching my dad when his health was in decline.
Just sitting outside with your thoughts or a good book to read can be quite relaxing.

Sitting on the porch is a nice way to relax.
Here are some more ideas of fun things people do:
-Going for an ice cream treat. During the summer it seems most everyone wants to cool off with a sweet dessert at the ice cream parlor.
-Do some gardening. While my worn-out body will still allow me to do it without too much pain. lol. I enjoy planting flowers, and also tomatoes, and other veggies to put on my summer salads and sandwiches. Its good exercise too.

Me I have been in more than out. However I am planning on taking my four-pronged cane to the beach which is three blocks away for some ocean air sometime in June,

That sounds terrific! I often notice many who just walk up to the beach to find a bench to sit on and relax to the sound of the waves crashing onto shore.

-Renting a canoe or kayak.
I've gone kayaking a few times and it's so much fun and relaxing to navigate the streams. When I was in Florida I did it and we saw many egrets, herons and even an alligator sunbathing.

Of yes, I forgot about that one! Great addition snowy. We have a minor league team close to us and I usually will catch a game or two during the season. The best part, it's in the evening. A great thing to do during those summer months.

I understand. Each year I'm more limited by past wear and tear injuries and older age. When my body finally gives out, I'll have to be content with only sitting on my deck with a good book. At least I'll be outside enjoying the scenery.
Another outdoor activity I would still be able to enjoy is going for an ice cream treat. During the summer it seems most everyone wants to cool off with a sweet dessert at the ice cream parlor.

Sounds like fun. When I was younger, I used to play beach volleyball.
Here are some more ideas of fun things people do:
-Going to see a local band at an outdoor concert. I live at the NJ shore, and they have bands play outdoor concerts on the beach. It's free, all you need is a lawn chair.
-Renting a canoe or kayak. I've gone kayaking a few times and it's so much fun and relaxing to navigate the streams. When I was in Florida I did it and we saw many egrets, herons and even an alligator sunbathing.

Two things have enjoyed were kayaking and going to a flea market.

@dgobucks226 Canoeing must be very fun, but unfortunately I haven't played with it before. I have only seen the sea once and even seen artificial canals a few times. I have played rafting once.

Ha, ha! That's what they have beach umbrellas and suntan lotion for.
Is there anything you enjoy doing outdoors during the warmer months?

@dgobucks226 Among the three listed, I think camping is the only thing we haven't done yet so far. I also think that we wouldn't survive going on a camping trip together.

Funny you should mention seeing a lighthouse. We have 11 lighthouses located throughout my state of NJ. When I visited Cape Hatteras Island area in NC, we saw 4 of them there.
Here are some more ideas of fun things people do:
-Going to an amusement park. When I was a lot younger it was lots of fun.
-Going to see a local band at an outdoor concert. I live at the NJ shore, and they have bands play outdoor concerts on the beach. It's free, all you need is a lawn chair.
Here is a photo of one of those Carolina lighthouses...
