Tornado Damage (not to my home)

Do you guys remember my 35 year old cousin who died? His parents got hit by a tornado last night (they live an hour and a half away from me), and the picture is part of what is left. It looks like a dumping ground (see random tire). The cars are destroyed, and half the house is gone. Most importantly though, they, along with their daughters who live nearby, are okay physically. They thankfully have insurance, but as you can imagine it’s a terrible time right now. Please remember them in your prayers.

@ambiepam That’s rough. Great they are insured but that doesn’t cover the anxiety etc.

Yes, it is good to have insurance but it sometimes takes forever to settle. I imagine they will have to come up with lists of things they had, etc.

@AmbiePam A strong family is a blessing both in hardship and good times as well. I am glad your family shares resources.

The good thing about being on my dad’s side of the family is that everyone in our huge family is going to send them what they can manage, whether it be money, gift cards, or household items. These people band together. It’ll still be a tedious, overwhelming task, but they’ll have all the support they need.

@AmbiePam That’s wonderful news! I know my family would do the same, it’s just what we do.

Sending good vibes your way. I recall being spared, only to have a lot of damage nearby.

Oh, I’m so sorry. I’m thankful they aren’t injured. We just had a destructive thunderstorm come through Louisville. It was intense: my neighbor’s flag pole was bending in the wind!

That looks really bad. I am glad to know that they are physically well, but they must be traumatized.

Even having insurance, that's still devastating to have such loss from the tornado. Thankfully they are all okay because they can't be replaced but everything else can .

I'm glad they're all right. Yes, I'll keep them in prayer. I saw pictures of the tornadoes from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas to Kentucky this morning on the news.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Even with insurance it can take a long time to get repairs organised. It really looks an awful mess to try to clean up.

How terrible this is, and they are mourning the loss of a child as well. Where will they stay? To lose your home is so difficult. I’m so sorry.
