Dorks at Disney World

For my 55th birthday this year (did I say 55? I meant 29), my kids surprised me with a weekend at Disney World. Actually, I knew we were going to Disney World because I had to ask for time off from work, but I didn't know what they had planned as far as resort and dinner reservations (and they did not disappoint with their choices). We stayed at the gorgeous Boardwalk resort adjacent to Epcot, with a very expensive room overlooking the water and the boardwalk below. And as far as dining, I enjoyed lamb chops, filet mignon steak, lobster and hibachi (not all at the same time). I would say I ate like a king! Anyway, enough with that. My birthday is not until this Thursday, actually, so we kind of cheated celebrating early. But everyone knows that I am a Disney dork, and will find any excuse to go to the theme parks. One of the days, we had ducked into the Muppet Vision 3D attraction more to cool off from the heat than anything else. While we were in the queue waiting to enter the show, my son's girlfriend looked at my son and I and told us we were big dorks for having so many glasses on our heads. She then snapped a photo. Yep, total dorks! I entered the attraction wearing my sunglasses, and then switched over to my reading glasses inside (probably so I could myLot from my phone). I picked up a pair of 3D glasses (the pink glasses) and stuck them over my hat on my head, along with my sunglasses. My son had his 3D glasses on and his sunglass on top of his head. And, I didn't even notice this until writing this discussion, but on my son's t-shirt Mickey Mouse is also wearing a pair of pink glasses! I'm not out to impress anyone when I'm at Disney World. I'm just a big, overgrown kid trying to have some fun, even if I look like a dork doing it!
