The bird flu is like a bad chain...first the birds must be destroyed. So there are less eggs. I don't think some people realize just how many products we buy that have eggs in them. So that raises not only egg prices but many other foods, including chicken. An endless chain. Bird flu is not a good thing at all.

@LovesEverybody I love turkey more than chicken so we eat it fairly often. I cook it and then freeze it in portions so it's just easy to reheat.

It is a shame that they cannot knock out bird flu. This is why I raise chickens and have my own flock! I don't have to worry about that stuff anymore. This just confirms that I need to add on to the flock, as egg prices will sky rocket again. I think a new incubator is in the making.

Chicken used to be rather expensive. We may be seeing a real shortage soon and the price of them will go up.

I had some tater tots, a pork sausage patty, and gravy, I feel sorry for the chickens. Anyway I am getting so tired of most of what I eat that since our weather will soon be intolerably hot I am thinking about getting more juices, soda, anything cold and lots of ice cream,

The chickens on the farms are not housed in a proper manner to have a life like a chicken. Some are in small cages and can't even turn around.
This is one of the reasons that I have chosen not to eat meat. The animals that we use for food are not treated with respect for other living creatures. If most people would not eat meat, or only a small amount every now and then, the animals would not be raised in such cruel conditions.

Yes, you are correct. Some of the farms keep their animals in deplorable conditions.
