I have never been diagnosed with migraines

Although it is not unusual for me to get headaches, they usually go away easily, with a cup of coffee or with food, or sleep but. . . These last three days I have been miserable. I have headaches that just will not go away. I chalked it up to trying to cut back on coffee. Monday was not too bad. Tuesday it lasted all day, going away when I had a cup of coffee with my evening meal. I thought "Well that's that. Tomorrow should be good". NOT HAPPENING! At 1:30 this morning I woke with a blinding headache. Worst I have had in years. I have had two cups of coffee, and eaten things that usually help. I go back to bed and maybe sleep an hour, then wake again. Still have a headache. It is 12:15 p.m. The headache has been reduced to my eyes and the top of my head and the base of my skull. Bob is at his treatment. I am up, sitting upright. I have brewed a cup of tea from my peppermint leaves and I will enjoy it in a minute. I am going to do some very calm things for the rest of today. That is all I can do. On a brighter note, with my eyes half shut, in a dark room, I found a necklace that I was sure was missing. And one I had forgotten I have. Hanging from a peg board. I thought the "missing" one had fallen behind and under my dresser and I have been attempting to find and rescue it. I saw the "forgotten" necklace, and reached to examine it, and there was my missing cross necklace that Bob had gotten me, right there beside it. Makes me happy. My peppermint tea smells lovely. Wish me luck with my headache.

How is your BP? You want to make sure it is not a stroke. I would go for medical attention personally.

My BP was really high at the worst of it. The headache got better bit by bit, but left me tired. I did not have a car here to go. If I have the same problem tonight I will go immediately to urgent care in the morning.

@GardenGerty You may not get a warning next time. Going to the doc would be a good idea. Something is wrong.

If pain medication doesn't help you should see a doctor.

I feel for you. It sounds like you have more than one type of headache all at once.

It kind of feels that way. Sleep helped. I have a check up coming soon and even if the headache does not come back, I will talk with the doctor.

I haven't officially been diagnosed either . . . I just say I have migraine-like headaches as it doesn't seem as bad as for folks I know who get severe ones. For me it happens when there's too much sodium/MSG in my system. But yah, usually eating banana or cucumbers, coffee, and sleeping it off does the trick. Sorry this ones been lasting longer than usual. Glad your missing necklace was found!

I have heard some people benefit from Gatorade. Many of the same electrolytes as bananas and cucumbers. I have attributed these in the past to lack of magnesium, but I take a supplement now. I also try to eat magnesium rich foods.

@GardenGerty Gatorade - interesting! I think all that sugar in it would give me a headache . I have been reading up on magnesium too. I don't take supplements, but apparently having pumpkin seeds helps with that. Apparently we are all lacking in magnesium.

I wish you the best in beating your troubles with these migraine headaches since I can relate to them since I have to deal with stress due to the propaganda from the television shows.

I try not to watch television news shows. They do make for a lot of stress.

You should definitely see a doctor, Heather. Please. I'm glad you found your necklaces. I have an opal cross that my husband bought for me that I cannot find. Take care of yourself and go see a doctor. How is Bob doing?

I hope your necklace is found. It sounds beautiful. I did see my doctor. We treated what we thought it was, but it was not from ticks after all. Since I am having lots of pain free nights and days now, I suspect it was a sever Fibro flare, coupled with storms rolling through one after another.

@GardenGerty I'm glad you're feeling better. Is Bob done with his procedures now? How is he doing?

How are you feeling now? I do get ocular migraine, probably because of sinusitis, and an irritated nerve somewhere.

I saw the doctor. We tested me for an illness from tick bites. While waiting for results I took an antibiotic. The antibiotic gave me headaches.. I did not know that until I finished it and the bad headaches went away.

Heather, I really really think you should see a doctor. That's just not normal. You could be developing migraines, but a Neurologist needs to rule them out. Let us know...you're in my prayers.

That headache sounds really debilitating. You needed a bit of good news for sure. You'd be pleased to have found the necklaces.
