Did Uncle Ben and Aunt Jemima have any children?

June 1, 2024 3:58pm CST
And how bad was the financial hit to their lifestyle when Aunt Jemima got fired? I think that was a total bullshit move by Quaker Oats. She'd worked for the company for scores of years and was a prominent public figure. Just goes to show how you can lose everything in the blink of an eye.

@Scarred4Lyfe True. And they didn't expect the backlash either.

@Scarred4Lyfe This was racially wrong? That's ridiculous. So, the Jolly Great Giant, he needs to be shorter and wear red long under-ware!

A fine example of how completely carried away by inconsequential things people can get.

Getting rid of both of them was just stupid.

She wasn't an actual person, but a symbol. Just because a minority decided to make their issues someone else's product. If you don't like the symbols for some mystery reason, stop buying the product, or I don't know, cover it up.

I found this, and Aunt Jemima was a real person: Nancy Green..
After nearly a century, Nancy Green will be finally honored.

These are the kind of people you expect to last forever and associate with the products, And once again we come up against the wrong kind of thinking, I picked this up online The PepsiCo-owned company is retiring the brand and its namesake character, acknowledging that “Aunt Jemima’s origins are based on a racial stereotype

That would be a shame, in Hebrew the word for oatmeal is " quaker" I was shocked the first time I heard the word.

Aunt Jemima was a legend, for many years Uncle Ben, yah he's been around for quite a while. Firing Aunt Jemima was a harsh injustice! As a matter of fact, didn't she invent the blueberry pancake? And Uncle Ben won a televised eating contest, consuming 200 blueberry pancakes at the World Fair

I miss Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben. I thought it was totally unnecessary to get rid of them.

Yes, you really can lose everything in a very short time. And when it happens, the chips, or in this case, the pancakes, go down very quickly.

Well, employees are replaceable in the eyes of every company. They wouldn't care about the employee after they get separated from the company. Only few companies show compassion towards their employees.
