My old blender has a burning smell

Five years ago I bought a blender. I used it very often and I made smoothies. Those smoothies helped me a lot. They are very healthy. But lately, I have noticed that it makes a very strong noise and has a burning smell. I am not sure if I should buy another one. That burning smell is worrying me. That blender was bought with my first online earnings. It is a beautiful memory. I could save everything I earned and I bought something useful.

You have a good memory but if its electrical, it might be dangerous.

Sounds like it could catch fire, I would say it is time for a new blender,

Sounds like you need to toss it out.

It's probably shot. I'd consider buying a new one soon.

Time to give up the ghost as they say. Cut the cord, literally, and get rid of it.

I hate to be the doctor bringing the bad news, but with the burning smell it sounds like your beloved blender is about to become a totally beautiful memory. With the noise and burning smell it sounds like the motor is giving out. What I would do, if your kitchen is large enough, is cut off the cord to your blender when you get it replaced and plant an fresh herb plant in it. You could still have it there to love and it could still be useful. I have had blenders and mixers that have had the burning smell and noise and it didn't take long and they were gone. I always made sure that I removed the power cords so my daughter wouldn't plug them in and get hurt, and would either give them to her to play house with or I would find other projects to use them for...mostly artistic endeavors. I usually lucked out and would find a new one at a better price and better quality than the previous one I had. But I found it was always "better to be safe than sorry", especially with electrical equipment. (I can show you the remains of what used to be my home and family heirlooms....sigh. It isn't pretty to see your house on fire! It was caused by the local power company and I was coming home from our weekly shopping trip to see my house engulfed in flames. I lost all control and ran a half mile to my home, past 5 full fire crews to get into my home and save my dogs and cats. It took 5 burly (HUGE) firemen, a fire captain and the copter pilot to keep me under control. The pilot kept broadcasting over the loud speaker "HERE SHE COMES AGAIN, SOMEONE GRAB HER!!!" while trying to keep tabs from above on the fire. Contrary to popular belief, those firemen are muscular!!!
