6/5/24 - Update on My Husband

Our housekeeper's mother visited him yesterday and brought him some Burger King food which he gratefully devoured. He likes their food much better than McDonald's.
My husband spoke to the person in charge of Occupational Therapy and told her about the final appeal. She said she would put in her report that he's not ready to go home and needs further therapy. She said maybe that would help.
Now that I have the lab results and will be getting a prescription, as soon as I"m better I can visit my husband again.
Thank you for your continued support, prayers and thoughts.

Well, that’s very positive that the therapist is going to say he isn’t ready to leave yet. I really hope it helps.
I hope someone can get your medication to you today so you can begin to feel better soon.

I wish you the best. Insurance will only pay for so much. I wish you the best of luck. I know you mentioned self-pay.

Yes, I don't have much hope that we will win this appeal. The insurance company is tired of paying.

I hope that notation makes a difference. It really should and if they did any kind of evaluation correctly, they should be able to see that your husband is not ready for discharge. He needs to be able to get out of bed!! And stand up without assistance. Ya'll keep plugging away at them from all directions that you can think of!

@LindaOHio I wonder how long it would take to get him up and around if he had therapy all seven days of the week. I mean, get part time people to come in, at least on a Saturday! It shouldn’t be hard for them to do.

I doubt very much that we will win this next appeal. The insurance company is tired of paying.

Glad he was able to enjoy some Burger King. Sometimes it's the little things that mean the most. It sounds like he is making some progress, so maybe it's just a matter of time now. Fingers crossed, and hope you will be feeling better soon as well.

Sorry, I was a bit caught up and couldn't keep a track of your updates. It seems that you are not keeping well. I hope that you feel better soon and can visit your husband soon. That report should be helpful to let him stay a bit longer there.
Take care. Prayers and thoughts for you

Turns out it was just a UTI. I waited several weeks because the symptoms were different and I thought it was something more serious! My bad.

That place is a poor excuse for a rehab facility.

Hubby has to eat that horrible rehab food every day. A little fast food won't hurt him!
