The lumbar ablation went well

I was finally able to get the ablation procedure (burning the nerve endings in my lower spine) yesterday.
It hurt, but it wasn't unbearable and only took about an hour and a half altogether.
All went well, thank God, no complications. But I didn't know the doctor can only do one side at a time! The body might not do well with both sides at the same time.
So, I have to wait once again for insurance to approve the procedure. Hopefully it will only be a couple of weeks.
But so far I don't have any pain, although I have to take it easy for a couple of days. I can expext to still have some pain on the left side, but praying the right side will be better.
I learned it's not 100% effective, but 80% would be wonderful. And it should last six months to a year and can be repeated if needed after that.
So, I'll thankful one side is done and looking forward to the rest of it.
At some point I hope I can get a steroid injection in my neck and get some pain relief from that.
I can't express how very much I appreciate all your prayers, well wishes, and concerns. You all are the greatest!

@1creekgirl Some things are weird. I needed laser surgery to both eyes because of glaucoma. I had to do one, then wait one week, ask for a second approval and do the other.

I can't believe they'll require approval before doing the second half of a procedure.

Glad to hear it was finally done . . . hope this helps your back greatly - go far away, pain! I was surprised the whole procedure wasn't approved from the beginning . . . I hope you won't have to wait too long. May you feel fabulous as you continue to heal .

@1creekgirl What a pity the procedure doesn’t have a nicer name!

That's a good long time for that to last, and you should get some real relief while you have it.

Glad that the ablation went well and hope that you have less pain than what you've been dealing with. Hope the insurance covers the next procedure so you can get the other side done. It would be awesome if you could be 100% pain free but even less pain would be welcomed I'm sure.
Sending lots of good wishes, prayers and

Thanks, Marilyn. The doctor said it won't be 100%, but any percent will help!

That took longer than I would have thought. I hope you get 100% relief on that side and that approval for the other side comes quickly. We all want you to feel better. Sending prayers and healing thoughts your way.
