So, I came across something absurd today – fried toothpicks. Yes, you read that right! Who on earth eats toothpicks anyway? They're not even food! Apparently, this ridiculous idea came from a trend on social media where people are frying weird things. I get experimenting with food, but this is next-level crazy. I mean, what's next? Fried napkins? Shoe laces? Though these toothpicks are not made of wood but starch, they are not edible product and their safety as food has not been verified. Have you heard about this? OR Have you heard of any other strange food trends that made you go, "What were they thinking?

I’m going to pass on that. It makes you wonder if these people have too much time on their hands.

I get that! It’s definitely one of those ‘too much free time’ trends. People are always pushing boundaries.

Wondering why it is not edible when it's made of starch, unless they use a different kind of starch which is not food grade.

Yap, they’re made from a type of starch not intended for eating otherwise the food ministry wouldn't warn the public against eating it.

@florelway Its okay to not be edible. Those starch toothpicks were made with the environment in mind not as food to be eaten.
