Mylot over the years : Intentional and Unintentional change of style

On Mylot, whether we are less active or more, we have some style or way of our own. Over the years, things do change. So, a style and the way of interaction could also change. Personally, I was more into discussions with set patterns or on topics which were very varied. However, I am now more open, with a mix of responding in short or in detail. Plus I try to make my content more "readable". I do add discussions on Sports but am more choosy. Unknowingly or unplanned, I think I sometimes ask more questions and my hesitation levels are low. There could be more things but these cover what are the routine ones. What about you?

I am nor as active here as I was years back, but I keep coming back. Been to other forum sites which pay more but I found the interaction here on mylot as very intimate and a connection is established among us virtual friends. We can make a story out of a topic which stirs up an engaging conversation.

@sjvg1976 For a few months, I was less active here. Interactivity seemed less. Yet my activity has seen an uptick in June. Some interesting discussions still keep coming up although the frequency is not what it used to be.

@florelway The casual and free form approach that we can take here is unique and that keeps me bringing back to this site !

When I first joined Mylot, we had catagories on a number of topics. It made it easier for me to find what I wanted to reply to, and what I didn't. Now, I have to go through long lists and sift through threads, never quite knowing what a thread will be about, because the title the author uses often is misleading.

@kaylachan I feel that we can experiment with bringing back at least a couple of those categories like say Sports, Music, Movies etc.

@kaylachan Yes it is the admin that needs to take the decision.

I used be more "serious" - posting lengthy discussions about the things I had been going through in life (more like "venting" ). Perhaps my responses were also on the serious side. But now I try to keep things light. I try to keep my posts brief(er) so as not to bore everyone . . . now if only I would post more often . I don't have much time to be here, so I try to be quicker while still responding with substance. I know what you mean about hesitation levels being lower now.

@much2say Some of the approach that you have listed comes close to mine. Yet serious discussions are not totally out. By the way, I am thinking of diversifying to writing about the ongoing Euro 2024 as well.

@much2say Yes. Else there are platforms where we have to follow set patterns and styles.

I haven't found any change in myself since I joined Mylot. I have always been very cautious while responding to discussions. I read a lot, but I respond very little because most of the time I don't understand what I should reply to.

@sjvg1976 That sounds fine. Initially I was somewhat more open in a few respects. Later I found a balance between what to share, how much and when to share.

I stopped writing, but I am very active interacting. I simply have nothing I judge interesting to share right now.

I post when I find something to discuss or want to tell something about my life, I like to see what everyone is up to and what they are doing,

@RasmaSandra Yes at times, we are better off with posting the type of content that people read and post here.

I don't know that I've changed much but I do try to give 'value for reading'.

Change is the only constant ! Mylot does have changed over the years . I do see there are less participants than what the numbers show. The number of active discussions as well as reponses are less. Perhaps, the low payout could be a reason for the less audience. I do not have any preference over the category of discussions. I respond to ones for which I believe I have an opinion to share. I look at funa dn relaxing over here in mylot. Good to read your thoughts!

@RevivedWarrior Thanks ! Some days back, lack of new discussions and interactivity was bothering me a lot. Now, I try not to be bothered amd enjoy doing things here !
