Last night I heard noises in the walls

Yesterday at midnight I was in my room. I heard some noises like it was something in the wall. I could hear the bricks falling and other noises. I wonder what made those noises. The cats heard the noises too and they were very curious. But I still wonder what made those noises. I hope that a mouse isn't trying to get in the house again. I have some outdoor cats and I am trying to find owners for them. They kill rodents very often. They watch the place near our dog and they stay there every day. They think that they must kill mice or even rats even if we feed them daily. Did you hear any weird noises in your room?

Yeah! Not inside our house though. But from the outside. It's a monotonous grinding noise that kind of bites your ears. What's more irritating is, that the noise happens only in the evening when it's pitch dark and you want to retire from a long day. My husband said that they were frogs making piercing calls in unison.

@dya80dya It might be some pests moving around the house.

I am sure that I didn't have hallucinations because the cats heard the noise too. They watched carefully.

A few months ago, I did hear something scratching in the wall near my husband's closet. It was only that once spot. I heard it in the early morning 2 days in a row . . . so finally we looked around the property. There was one closed vent that looked like it got chewed through, so we had to call someone for it. Only 1 big rat was found after 4 weeks . . . but after the guy took it away, we didn't hear that sound anymore.

@dya80dya I don't want either one in our walls - bleh. The guy who trapped it wanted to make sure it did not leave any babies as well .

Rats and mice can make these noises. I had a mouse and it made the same noises. But the mouse was hard to catch. We caught the rat in a day.

It could be a rat. You must keep a watch.

@dya80dya I hope so, mice are dirty little animals.

Mice can make a lot of noise. I don't hear the noises anymore. Maybe it decided to move to another place.

They always want to get inside or outside the bedrooms. I noticed that they don't like closed doors.

I will keep one of those cats. Someone stole the kittens. I mean they took them without our permission. They sent a message after that saying that they were in good hands.

The cats heard the noise too. Sometimes they can make noises, but I think it was a rat or mouse.

It could be loose building materials that shifted in the walls during the night. I used to hear those kind of noises in one of our previous houses and it was from the plaster that wasn't cleaned out of the walls when the sheetrock was installed. (the builders can be slobs at times) I learned not to worry about those noises. I'm not too fond of having rodents killed on the grounds that I live on, but in comparison to having the rodents coming into my home I would rather have them taken care of by the outside cats. The rodents can carry some pretty awful bacteria and diseases and cats will always feel that they are to control the rodent population, even with us providing them with food daily. I have about 6 cats that come by for food and water daily

I wonder if cats can catch a disease if they eat those rodents. I hope this won't happen.

I heard some weird noises in the hotel. Not just once but twice in different places and. I heard some sort of carpentry works at wee hour in the morning which was impossible because there was no work done.
