Good news from Vince's heart surgeon

The photo has nothing to do with the topic. It’s a cat on a windowsill in Ireland. We saw Vince’s heart surgeon today for his six-week check. How the time flies! Vince got a good report. The surgeon also deals with lungs and we were able to ask him about the spot which has appeared on one lung and which has grown since an X-ray 2 years ago. He says it is regarded as slow-growing and, if tests prove it needs to be removed, he would do it through the side. It would not be highly invasive surgery so that’s all good news. It's still a potentially cancerous growth of course but we were reassured after talking to him. We have another specialist to see in a fortnight and no doubt more tests and perhaps a biopsy to get more information. Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes you’ve sent our way. It’s been much appreciated.

What a wonderful post, such great news. I hope that the spot can be dealt with carefully and he is fine.

It is certainly a lot better than the worse case scenario.

I am glad he got such a good report. Hopefully the other problem can be easily resolved, and he will have no more big problems like this. He has done remarkably well with his recovery--maybe because he had such a good nurse!

Thanks for the kind words. He's been no trouble apart from continually apologising for being a nuisance. The spot on the lung may not be quite the worry we thought it would be.

@MarieCoyle He gets a bit of pain from time to time and gets tired easily which is all to be expected. And yes, it could last for a long time but really, it had to be done.

@JudyEv Hopefully it will soon be taken care of and the worry gone. Is he still a bit sore? I would think that would last for a long, long time, I know it's a hard surgery.

I’m so happy to hear that your husband got such a good report on his checkup. Hopefully future test will prove that the spot is nothing serious to worry about, or else find that it is something easily removed or treated. I will continue to pray for Vince!

Haha. Yes, he is enjoying being able to cook again. He didn't feel like it at first but once he improved a bit he was keen to get back in the kitchen.

Lovely kitty! I am glad for the good news. They found the same last year on my husband's lung and it proved to be nothing that needed attention. I hope it will be the same for Vince.

That's great news. And good that the spot is slow growing and would not be hard to get if they have to

It did relieve our anxiety a bit although of course it might still mean radiation or chemotherapy.

I guess it's not likely to do that but it does seem it may not be as bad as we thought.

I was going to say Vince's heart surgeon looks a lot like a cat . Well this is good news all around . . . Vince is recovering quite well . . . and that spot doesn't seem to be as worrisome.
