Spider Built a Web in Our Bathtub

A small spider didn't have a chance to survive, even one day. He had built a web across the corner of our bathtub. I wanted to take a morning shower, to freshen up a bit. Well, this spider web was something crazy that I've never seen before. We use this bathtub every day! This only proves that spiders aren't particular when it comes to stringing up their webs,, to catch other insects. They are the only species in the animal kingdom, that eats their own kind. Insects eating insects. Photo: Not mine. It was borrowed from Pixabay

I noticed a web down on the bottom drawer of my side table. I do not care for spiders at all.

@kobesbuddy .......I feel kind of bad when the kids kill one after I have them come to my rescue. I would put them outside too. That, to me, is where they belong.

I throw spiders outdoors, whenever I find them. Jay kills anything like that, with a kleenex.

I find spiders interesting, but from a distance. I would not appreciate them in my bathtub . I assume that you got rid of it.

@kobesbuddy I am sure it can find a nice place to build a web outside. He built that one in 24 hours or less. He will be fine.

@kobesbuddy They have enough place outside to build their web and stay. They look gross inside home. Here, we have to do a regular cleaning of our corners, else we keep getting those webs.

Spiders are not insects. But they even eat their mates or children sometimes

@kobesbuddy I searched spiders with bands on their legs. I could not find the exact kind that you took a photo of but it resembles an orb weaver. There are several varieties. I am glad he can be happy outside.

During covid, I was given one room for quarantine and during my stay, Spiders were my friends I suppose. Because whenever I tried to clean or wipe all the webs in the morning ... by next morning they ends up extending more area and tried roaming, hanging almost near my study table... It was almost like Me Vs Spiders ... At the end, I told them that we are room mates let's stay in peace ... It was so funny that I noticed since that day they never try to extend their area or hang down with poky eyes to my study table

You could make it a movie, "The Day of the Spiders." Show people running and screaming. Let us see them laughing because they can read your brain waves, and calling the home planet.

As you say, spiders aren't fussy where they build their webs.

If they had any common sense, they'd build a web outdoors!

They do tend to look for water, they appear over the kitchen taps and above the sink.

I hope the web is already gone, if I can remember it correctly, when I was in college, I read some article about it, and its kinda not good for health.

Yes, we have had this happen also. Go out the door and walk through a string of spider webs.

I know that spiders are beneficial and eat insects, which is good. I am not a fan of spiders. I would not want to shower with that although I once showered with a tree frog jumping from wall to wall enjoying the warm water spraying. What will you do about him? Will you let him stay or what?

My daughter pointed out a spider a few days ago that had built a small web under our coffee table in our living room, and wanted me to kill it.I told her that I didn’t want to kill it for three reasons: 1) it is tiny and not a threat to anyone; 2) the web is out of the way and not a bother to anyone; and 3) spiders eat other insects, so a sign of a spider in our home means we are probably free of other bugs in our house. By the way, they say you are never more than a few feet away from a spider at any given time.

@kobesbuddy They also eat roaches, so they say if you see spiders in your home you most likely DON"T have a roach problem. I hate roaches more than anything, so I will gladly share my home with spiders if it means having no roaches in my house.

That's a pretty spider. Did yours look like that? Our common garden spiders often have a cross on their...is it their back? I call them Jesus spiders.
