This Heatwave is a killer

In my little town in Arizona, temps have been above 115 degrees. Even after 9pm, it is still at 105. Several people in my small town have passed away due to the heat. I’m grateful to have AC, but the heat is keeping me indoors and I am going stir crazy. Is anyone else experiencing extreme heat like we are here? What do you do to stay cool and entertained?

Our temps appear to be on the higher side but still fairly normal. I live on the coast so I get those breezes. I've always been an indoor girl and content to have the internet to keep me busy. So, I don't go as stir crazy. My husband, George, seems to be taking it fairly well seeing as we're waiting on his clearance to drive.

You also have to contend with a certain amount of humidity too. The humidity can really knock you for a loop!!! I'm glad that you are an indoor gal and are content with the air conditioning. Just make sure you keep hydrated.

@kaylachan Gee, somewhere in the cyber universe is the rest of my comment. With it haven been over 100 degrees and my passing out Wednesday from the heat (I checked with a nurse friend of mine and she informed me that I had suffered a heat stroke and I needed to stay in with the fans going on me and my drinking plenty of cool water and iced tea) I've learned to adjust to staying inside. I did break protocol and a friend drove me to get a money order for my rent...boy was the heat miserable!!!! But I got the money order sent off at the Post Office, which is right across the street, and they hand canceled it like I usually have them do. I rushed to get back inside and cool off again. My designing and making teddy bears has been a sanity saver. I went through the laundry basket of sewn bears that were ready for stuffing and got out some upcycled mink bears to joint and stuff...so I don't lack for things to occupy my time. I just am thankful that I have plenty of projects and the television to keep me somewhat sane. Although my friend nearly stroked out from my calling the checker at the grocery store where I got cat treats and donuts (FINALLY I've been craving them for over a month...not the mass produced Hostess type but the bakery type donuts) anyway I called the checker cute (he really was) and that he had a cute tooshie (It was too). But I figure I might as well have some fun anyway. But I drank about two bottles of water and 16 oz of iced tea when I got home. I've only lost another pant's size from not being able to eat in this heat. By the time cooler weather hits I should be a size zero!!! But I did eat one of the donuts too. I just don't handle heat well. I discovered that in Thailand when I lived there when I was younger, and it hasn't improved with age.

We hit 99 yesterday. I have just been keeping busy here with my Farmasi business and flea market booth.

We are not experiencing extreme heat, but the humidity is bad.
